Statement of Purpose

My name is Gurkamal Singh Aulakh. I was born and brought up in small village of Punjab,
India, which is known as Chabhal. I finished my matriculation in 2017 under Central Board of
Secondary Education and scored 8.0 CGPA. I completed my senior secondary studies in non-
medical stream from Central Board of Secondary Education in the year 2019 with 80.0%.
Apart from this, to be eligible to meet the English language requirements I did IELTS and got
overall 6.5 bands.

I belong to nuclear family, which includes; my mother and my grandmother. My mother

working as Nurse in hospital. We all have close-knit relationship with each other.

I have chosen two years Diploma Motive Power Technician-Automotive for my further
studies because it relates with my previous education and suits my interest perfectly. Apart
from the lectures, this course will provide me practical learning and experience. During this
course, I will learn subjects like experiential learning opportunities include analysing and
solving complex motive system problems and diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electronic
and electrical motive power components and systems.

Canada is a country which has excellent level of living standard and provides vast number of
opportunities in education field. Canada is one of the top international student destinations
in the world. One of the biggest reason students choose to come to Canada is the quality of a
Canadian education. As studies in Canada give more importance to practical learning than
theoretical knowledge, students become job-ready on completion of their course. A Canadian
degree is widely recognized as equal to one from the United States, Australia, or the United
Kingdom, and Canadian universities consistently do well in international rankings. Besides
paying tuition, international students also need to find housing and finance in their daily lives.
The cost of living in Canada is seriously affordable compared to most other top destinations
for international students. When you combine the average annual cost of living and average
annual tuition fees, Canada is clearly the most affordable option. Therefore, these reasons I
chose Canada for my higher studies.

I don’t want to make compromise with the quality of my education because higher study is
an important step in my academic life. When it comes to quality education, Niagara College
Canada is one of the best colleges of Canada. Niagara college provides the students with the
experience that supports successful transition to further studies at the university. Niagara
college offers many facilities to its students like innovative teaching and learning, a positive
student experience, and engagement with digital learning technologies. It also has pocket
friendly tuition fees structure which is a main concern for international students. It has latest
technology to provide personal and flexible learning, experiences, amazing facilities and
support for students so that their education prepares them for jobs of the future. Niagara
College is that is a very reputed and well-known college and has huge industry links which will
help me get hands on exposure in my field.

Diploma of Motive Power Technician is a very interesting program according to my

cognizance. After successful completion of this course, I can become a motive power
technician. Both the theoretical and practical aspects of this discipline are equally
emphasized. After getting the education from Niagara college I may be able to work in large
companies like, Ashok Leyland, Bajaj Auto, Chinkara Motors, Hindustan Motors and can earn
up to INR 60000-70000 per month in my home country. So, these job opportunities are
incentives for me to return back to my Home Country. Moreover, I will return back to my
family to take their responsibility. I searched these jobs and companies from Monster.com,
Indeed.com, Shine.com, Quikr.com. This course provides practical training and industry
experience that extends beyond lectures.
