HVAC inspection certification and site checkout proforma

Table C-2 HVAC certification

Dear Customer,

In order to provide optimal system performance of the Xerox iGen3 press, it is critical that the
exhaust duct pressure, temperature, and humidity at your Xerox iGen3 installation site be
maintained within the ranges defined in the Xerox iGen3 Installation Planning Guide. To ensure
that your environment can be maintained within these ranges, Xerox requires that a qualified
HVAC Engineer certify your installation site. Appendix C of the Installation Planning Guide and
the below Site Checkout Proforma will provide your HVAC expert with such temperature, humidity
ranges, and exhaust duct pressures. iGen3 is a highly sophisticated electronic printing press that
requires the room to be environmentally controlled as specified in the Installation Planning Guide
in order to maintain optimum Image Quality Performance. Failure to adequately control the room
will result in more frequent service calls, Dry Ink problems, and Image Quality degradation.
Proper performance of the Xerox iGen3 system can only be achieved by ensuring that the proper
duct exhausts pressure, temperature, and humidity consistently remains within the identified
ranges and specifications.

The performance of the Xerox iGen3 in any environment outside of these ranges cannot be
guaranteed. If compliance to these environmental specs falls outside the appropriate ranges and
causes performance problems, unless such non-compliance was due to circumstances outside
the customer's control, (e.g. power outage), Xerox reserves the right to suspend service for your
iGen3 until the appropriate environmental range is restored and, when such ranges are restored,
Xerox will attempt to fix the problem but may charge you time and materials rates to do so.

If the iGen3 press will include a Xerox or third party inline finisher, it is critical to also consider the
unique environmental specifications of the finishing equipment. Make sure to refer to that
finisher’s Solutions Planning Guide, supplied by your local Xerox Sales Analyst, for the
appropriate temperature and humidity levels required to properly operate the finisher. The iGen3
temperature and humidity levels specified in this document must be maintained when operating
with Xerox or third party inline finishing equipment.
