The School
National English School, established in 2000 at VIP Road,
Baguiati, is a co-educational institution affiliated to the
Council for I.S.C.E., New Delhi. Founded by renowned
philanthropist Sudhir Kumar Saha, NES prepares its students
to embark on a journey of academic and personal excellence.
Our innovative and dynamic curriculum offers a practical
and application-based learning approach that fosters critical
thinking, problem solving and creative ability while
promoting an all-round progress through a rich and diverse
co-curricular programme covering sports, music, art and
various social, cultural and literary activities essential to
the holistic development of the child.
The NES emblem, portraying a swan in flight, with the
motto “Dare to Know” symbolises our students’ undaunted
quest for knowledge, which empowers individuals to
challenge conventional thinking in pursuit of original ideas.
The ethos of the school, aptly summed up in its motto,
inspires our students to express their latent aptitudes and
creativity, encourages their aspirations, and creates

We have a strong track record in academics which is reflected
in our outstanding board results. This year our ISC and
ICSE toppers scored 98% and 97% respectively, with a
class average of 83% in ISC and 86% in ICSE, and a success
rate of 100%. These impressive results are a testament to
the hard work and dedication of our highly-experienced
faculty who are committed to ensuring that each and every
student at NES excels, and leaves our school as motivated,

At the heart of our success is our constant endeavour to

have been pioneering innovative teaching techniques, using
audio-visual aids and live working models, to demonstrate
various concepts and their applications, with a strong

Our Rajarhat Campus was inaugurated by Dr. Asim

Dasgupta, Hon'ble Finance Minister, Govt. of West Bengal
in February, 2008. The wing at Rajarhat, spread over a
sprawling 60 cottahs campus, provides state-of-the-art
facilities for academics and sports, and a world-class
ambience that will kindle the child's natural desire to learn.
Of late, the NES Educational Trust has come up with an
avant-garde facility for teacher training at Rajarhat,
christened National College of Education. Set in a modern
65 cottahs campus, the B.Ed. College is recognised by the
State University and is affiliated to NCTE, New Delhi. It
is the brainchild of visionary educationist, Samir K. Saha,
our Founder Director, who has shaped these institutions
with sky-high determination, and a lifelong passion to
accomplish the dreams of innumerous scholars.

are conducted through Audio Visual aids and the content
is displayed on a huge wall mounted Touch Screen
Interactive Display System linked to the school’s server.
The Package includes specially tailored class-wise and
subject-wise programmes for the students, which boosts
them to go beyond conventional teaching through text
books and makes the subject matter much more attractive.
These interactive lessons help the students to understand
the concepts through video clippings, 3D diagrams and
simulated experiments. Animated pictorial representation
helps the teachers to explain with ease difficult concepts
to the students.
The Junior School is a period of preparation, equipping
each child with the skills and knowledge required for
entering Senior School. The students are introduced to
a world of new ideas, concepts and experiences. The
training given during this period encompasses an
enormous sphere of activities, which provides
innumerable opportunities to hone the child's capabilities
and talents. While the process involves learning through
experience and activity, due emphasis is also given to
formal text book education. The entire process is aimed
at preparing students who possess a firm foundation in
the languages, arts and science, and an ability to think
logically and creatively.

In the Senior School primary emphasis is on preparing

curriculum of each class, and every student is encouraged

Essay Writing Competition and also won in the TATA
'Building the Nation' Essay Writing Competition. We
were the Champions of the TTIS Interschool Football
Competition. NES was declared the overall runners up
among several participating schools in the Franco Fiesta
organized by St. Francis Xaviers School as they bagged
prizes in Debate, Quiz, Dance, Fashion Show, Rock
Climbing and Pool. Our Students won prizes in the
Sunrise Fest in Quiz, Creative Writing and Extempore.
Our students consistently perform well and win medals
in Maths, Science and Cyber Olympiads and International
Assessment for Indian Schools (IAIS) organised by Mac
Millan.
