The learners demonstrate an understanding of environmental health to attain


community wellness.

II. PERFORMANCE STANDARD

The learners should be able to demonstrate healthful practices to prevent and


control common community and environmental health problems.

III. OBJECTIVES

The learners:

 Explain the concept of community health


 Describe the characteristic of healthy community.
 Recognize the benefits of a healthy environment
 Identify the most pressing environmental problems in the Philippines

Groupings

Group the students into three (3).

Ask the students to list at least 10 community and environmental problems in the
Philippines. Let them pick one (1) representative to share their collaboration in
the class.

Explorarion:
What is the impact of the problem in the people’s health?

What can you do to stop the community and environmental problems?

According to the world health organization, Health is a state of complete


physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of
disease or infirmity, and the ability to lead a socially and economically
productive life.
Community - is also defined as sociological group in a large place sharing
one environment. It therefore includes the individual and family.
Community Health - I the defined as art and science of maintaining,
protecting and improving the health of all the members of the
community through organized and sustained community efforts.
