3.3 Outcomes and Result

From the online survey conducted within the IIUM students, we can conclude
that the social problems are getting worst and bad in condition. There are still few of
them who didn’t able to perform salah five times a day and the rest found it as an
obligation. Next, they also agree that by doing prayers, they can find their own
tranquility. Performing prayers also can avoid them from doing sin and work as a life
reminder from them. They also aware about the punishments of not performing
prayers.

Technology nowadays with the existence of social media also gives the
superior contributing factor to the social problems. This is because; people spent most
of their time with social media such as instagram, twitter, snapchat, facebook and
also chatting through whatsapp. They are wasting their time for nothing, and even
worst it makes them forgot about their obligations. Social media also giving bad
influence to people as it can create lot of slanders and so forth.

Regarding the duty as a Muslims, most of respondents agree to help their

friends by giving advices as an alternative to help them. They also pray for other

9
people goodness, and display good akhlaq. Sadly, there are also few of them choose
to ignore their problematic friends.

4.0 CONCLUSIONS AND ISLAMISATION

In short, we can conclude that majority of the respondents agree that social
problems in Muslims society are getting worst. There are many contributing factors
on this case, but social media does affect the most. However, it is good to know that
actually most of the respondents aware that social problems should be treated and
prevented earlier as they give their opinion and share their actions on how to manage
Muslims with social problems. Besides, respondents also acknowledge the obligation
on performing prayers daily.

Based on this case study, we can relate that it is our responsibilities as a da’e
to preach about Islam, Quran, Hadith, Islamic teaching and the obligations to people
out there especially the Muslims society itself. Next, this case study also emphasized
about our duties to encourage of doing good deeds and forbidding of doing bad
things. Allah SWT has mention about this in the Quran, surah al-Baqarah verse 104;

“And let there be [arising] from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining
what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful”

Allah SWT mentioned again about promoting the amar makruf nahi munkar
in the same surah, verse 110;

“You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is
right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah . If only the People of the
Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers,
but most of them are defiantly disobedient”

As a Muslims, the crucial obligation is performing prayers five times a day.

Based on the online survey, most of the respondents explained know well that prayers

10
are the most superior between everything. There is an authentic hadith that endorse
about the importance of performing prayers;

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him,
said, “The first action for which a servant of Allah will be held accountable on the
Day of Resurrection will be his prayers. If they are in order, then he will have
prospered and succeeded. If they are lacking, then he will have failed and lost. If
there is something defective in his obligatory prayers, then the Almighty Lord will
say: See if my servant has any voluntary prayers that can complete what is
insufficient in his obligatory prayers. The rest of his actions will be judged in the
same way.

Last but not least, with all the sharing from the Quran and hadith, we have
high hopes that Muslims society will always obey Allah’s commands especially
regarding on performing our daily prayers. We also urge to all Muslims, to do our
duties as a community and brotherhood to preach and advise other people about
Islamic teachings. May Allah the effort will be counted in the Day of Judgment.
