CHAPTER I

The Benefits of Drinking Soya Milk of the Grade 12 TVL

students of LMNHS in their Performances

ABSTRACT

The main objective of this study was to determine the Benefits of Drinking Soya
Milk of the Grade 12 TVL students of Luciano Millan National High School during the
school year 2019-2020. It will analyze and determine every nutrients and benefits that
soya milk have, especially the benefits that can help the academic performances of
student. Soy milk or soymilk is a plant-based drink produced by soaking and grinding
soybeans, boiling the mixture, and filtering out remaining particulates. It is a stable
emulsion of oil, water, and protein. Its original form is a natural by-product of the
manufacture of tofu. It became a common beverage in Europe and North America in the
latter half of the 20th century, especially as production techniques were developed to
give it taste and consistency more closely resembling dairy milk. Along with similar
vegetable-based "milks", like almond and rice milk, soy milk may be used as a
substitute for dairy milk by individuals who are vegan or lactose intolerant. It determines
the significant relationship between the benefits of drinking soya milk and the
performances of Grade 12 TVL students of LMNHS.

This Study was conducted at Luciano Millan National High School, Asingan
Pangasinan which included 20 students in Grade 12 TVL students during the school
year 2019-2020. This study made use of the quantitative research design with the
questionnaire as the main gathering tool.
INTRODUCTION

Soymilk is an aqueous, white, creamy extract produced from soybeans which is

similar to cow milk in appearance and consistency. It is a highly nutritious which
contains protein, fat, carbohydrates vitamins and minerals. It is because of this nutritious
value and comparative low cost, that soymilk plays an important role in the dietary
pattern of people in most developing countries. The nutrients content in eight ounces of
plain soymilk are 140gm calories, 10gm protein, 4gm fat, 14gm carbohydrate, 120mg
sodium, 1.8mg iron, 0.1mg riboflavin and 80mg calcium. It has about the same amount
of protein as cow's milk, though the amino acid profile differs. The increasing popularity
of soymilk as a beverage worldwide is credited to health benefits e.g. low cholesterol
and lactose, its ability to reduce bone loss and menopausal symptoms, prevention and
reduction of heart diseases and certain cancers. As this drink is cholesterol free and low
in energy, it could enhance health benefits in terms of reducing body weight and blood
lipids. With its unique nutty flavor and rich nutrition, soymilk can be used as
supplementary way of dairy milk. It is available as a plain, unflavored beverage or in a
variety of flavored beverage including chocolate, vanilla and almond. Soy-based diets
can reduce blood pressure in spontaneously

hypertensive rats but apparently not in hypertensive humans

CHAPTER II
Theoretical and Conceptual Framework

Soybean begins with China and was entered into India by Himalayan routes. Near
the beginning of 2853 BC, the sovereign Sheng-Nung of China named soybean is one
of the five holy grains (Sing B.B.). This, soybean have grown within China used for more
than 4000 years (Hymowitz, 1970). The soyabean belongs to legume species inhabitant
to East Asia. Soybean plant differs in development and height for the parameter of
growth. The plant grow flat rather than developing in height greater than 7.8 inches, and
vertical upto 6.5 feet in tallness. The parts of plant like pods, stems, and leaves were
trifoliate
(occasionally 5 leaflets), but leaflets being 2-6 inches in length in addition to 1 to 3
inches broad. Leaves collapse prior to fully grown seed. The undersized, ordinary, fertile
flowers are present on the axil part of leaf, encloses colours like pale white otherwise
lavender. The fruit of soybean are hairy pod which develops in group of three to five, by
every pod 1to 3 inches in length furthermore typically be full of 2-4 seeds, 5-11 mm in
diameter. Similar to corn, the previous yield have lengthy domestication, the connection
in the present soybean towards wild growing species longer were draw by some level of
assurance. Soybean was enriching diversity through a especially huge quantity of
cultivars. On the other hand, Soybean is identified as progenitor of the current soybean
plant similar to vine plant which grow horizontal on the land. In the commonterminology
and general scientific proceedings soybean is vocabularies as the oilseeds while the
beans are grouped as pulses. The phrase soy is obtained as of the Japanese express
shoyu (soy sauce/soya sauce).

In Figure 1, the researcher shows the conceptual framework depicting the

independent variables and and its influence to the dependent variables. The
independent variables in this study is does drinking soya milk help learners in their
study. It can help the students to gain more knowledgement and skills from the soya
milk in their performance in the school. Soy milk, also known as soymilk, and soya milk,

Maintain the healthy

body

SOYA MILK DRINKING Improve healthy heart

It helps to expand the

mind set

Dependent variable of this study is the Benefits of soya milk. This consists of
following indicators: maintain the healthy body which refers to maintain a healthy
lifestyle, you need to keep eating healthy. Add more fruits and vegetables in your diet
and eat less carbohydrates, high sodium and unhealthy fat. Avoid eating junk food and
sweets. Avoid skipping a meal—this will only make your body crave more food the
moment you resume eating. Improve healthy heart which refers to enjoy a variety of
nutritious foods
Eat less salt: Reducing your salt intake is good for your blood pressure. Read about salt
in your diet and ways to reduce it. Replace unhealthy fats with healthy fats: Replacing
saturated and trans fats with unsaturated fats can reduce your risk of heart disease.
xpand the mind set is having a growth mindset (the belief that you are in control of your
own ability, and can learn and improve) is the key to success.

Method

The study used the descriptive analytical method to determine the relationship
between the Benefits of Drinking Soya Milk of the Grade 12 TVL students of LMNHS in
their Performances. According to PJ Nyanjui Kenya Institute of Education (2010),
analytical method attempts to describe and explain why certain situation exists. In this
approach two or more variable are usually examined to test research hypothesis. It
usually concerns itself with cause - effect relationship among variables.

The data were obtained from 30 respondents from Grade 12 TVL students of
LMNHS. This reseach conducted to Grade 12 TVL students of LMHS. The research
conducted 30 respondents from Block 6 students of LMHS during the school year 2019
and the researcher will used a survey to the Grade 12 T.V.L SHS Students. The
instruments that we are going to used is questionnaire. The purpose to know the
benefits of drinking soya milk among students

CHAPTER IV
Summary

The main method chosen to investigate the benefits of soya through interviewing
the Grade 12 TVL students of Luciano Millan National High School. Before delving into
the study, qualitative research on similar research was conducted from this basis two
research question were develop. Both of our questions have an eventually been proved
pertinent by the result. For instance in the case of benefits of drinking soya milk among
Grade 12 TVL students. It is clearly evident from the research that the main proponent
that leading many students is sometimes drink in soya milk. Benefits of drinking soya
milk gives an effective performance to the students in the school.

Findings

This research finds out in this topic have an strong influence specially students to
engage the Benefits of Soya Milk and also the researcher finds out that this topic have
an positive impact to everyone specially who drink a soya milk.
CHAPTER V
Conclusion

Soya incorporated khoa was prepared for all age groups which is of high nutritious as
rich in protein as well as mineral content useful for muscle building and bone formation
for growing children and teenagers. The product formulated with different ratios of
soyamilk respectively. Different formulations of khoa were prepared by rapid heating
and analysed for proximate analysis and overall acceptability of product. Organoleptic
characteristic of soya milk incorporated khoa were evaluated. Keeping in view of its high
nutritious values and high protein content, khoa is prepared. According to microbial
analysis sample c(70:30) is good, which contains less growth of microbes. From the
sensory evaluation it is concluded that sample A(30:70) has good acceptability to that of
other samples in terms of colour, acceptability, flavor, and texture. From the biochemical
analysis sample A(30:70) is good due to high proteins and minerals and less fat
content. The cost of production is affordable for almost all class people and is mainly
used for direct consumption. The health benefits of soymilk are many, and they may
include the risk of cholesterol, cancer, and obesity. Soymilk can help improve
cardiovascular health and reduce the risk of many postmenopausal problems.
