Project Work:

General Instructions:

• The project carries 20 marks

• You are expected to spend at least 10 hours on research and 10 hours on pre-work

and creating a project file

• The project file is to be submitted on 8th July 2019.

• The project should be of 3,500-4,000 words (excluding diagrams and graphs). Use a 50 page project
book or spiral bind 50 loose A4-size white ruled sheets. No sheets with any designs or pictures to be
used.

• Assessment of the project will be done using the rubrics appended to the project

• You are strongly recommended to do a self-assessment based on the rubric before

submission

• Prepare a questionnaire for all your research visits, these questionnaires should be a part of your
project file

• For secondary data mention the source at appropriate places

• Project work should be handwritten

Project Guidelines

The following steps should be followed while making the project:

• Choose an appropriate title for the project

• Explore the information relating to the title

• Collection of primary and secondary data on the topic (use of questionnaire is mandatory)

• Analyzing the data

• Presentation of data

• Using various statistical tools for interpreting the results

• Suggestions (if any)

• Bibliography

Topics for the project are as follows:

(Choose any one topic out of the following for your project work)

1. Women entrepreneurs can contribute significantly to the economic development of the country, but
their contribution has not been adequately studied and developed. Although it is challenging for both
men and women to start and sustain a successful business, women face unique challenges to self-
employment. Prepare a project report on the contribution of educated but unemployed women to the
economy, which goes unaccounted and mention the unique challenges they faced due to which they
were not able to become entrepreneurs.

2. Identify the types of marketing strategies used by the shop owners selling different products in your
localities. Collect information with respect to the cost spent by them on promotional activities and jump
in sales after such product promotion campaigns. Interpret the data and present the results through
tools of presentation of data.

3. Prepare a project report on the use of solar energy in India and do a cost-effective comparison with
conventional energy sources.

4. Suppose you are the owner of an IPL team. You are about to participate in IPL bidding and keen on
bidding for 3 new players this season. Collect the past 3 years data on the performance of the 3 IPL
players you intend to bid on for creating a balanced team. Prepare a project report on your findings.

5. Assess the patterns of changing consumer awareness amongst the households in


your locality with respect to service charge and GST slab for various goods and services, through
methods of primary research and relate it to the latest consumer awareness programs introduced by the
Government. Prepare a project report on consumer awareness.
