The machine structure is a typical “C frame” design.


The travelling column structure is made of high rigid electro welded steel .
The lower saddle, also made of steel, is running along the X axis on recirculating roller guides and
keep stable the travelling column upper system, together with the vertical head which run along the
Z axis.
The extreme rigidity of the full system assure to all the machining processes high quality and
precision

WORKING AREA / STROKE OF THE LINEAR AXES

The transmission of the


movement of the axes is made
by through grounded and
preloaded ball screws with ISO
Class 3, and the axes motors are
directly connected to the
ballscrew shafts using rigid
couplings.
The machine is eqquipped by
"roller guideways" on all axes,
and of suitable size according to
the applied loads.
The lubrication of ball screws
and guides is automatic and
centralized with grease, in order
to minimize the maintenance.

TOOLS MAGAZINE

The tool magazine must be rigidly fixed to the


machine frame, and it has to be located on the
left side of the machine.

The movement of the Z axis of the spindle head


will allow the positioning and subsequent tool
exchange process from the magazine to the
spindle, through an arm.

COOLANT TANK

The chips
discharging is made
from the front of
the machine bed,
and it is secured by
a chip conveyor
positioned in front
of the machine. It is
located parallel to
the X axis, and
allow the discharge
of the chips to the
left side of the
machine. The
height of the outlet
is 1000 mm.

Inside the machine is installed a washing system of the machine bed, that enable optimum cleaning of
the working area towards the chip conveyor.

To respect the current safety standards, in the area of the chip discharge are installed some protection
for the operator, to prevent access to the movement chain which could cause physical harm.

PERFORMANCES

Performances to be respected:

• Positioning accuracy of the axes:


+/- 0,008 mm (VDI/DGQ 3441).
• Bidirectional repeatability:
+/- 0,006 mm (VDI/DGQ 3441).
• Roundness error not:
exceeding 0,010 mm
measured with ball bar test. The test will be carried out by measuring the accuracy of the coordinate axes in the XY, YZ,
and XZ planes, in the middle of the machine strokes with ball bar arm radius 100 mm.

The check of the accuracy of the linear and rotating axes positioning, in standard configuration, will be
