Episode 10: Miracles All Around!

It’s an exciting time for all of us who are curious and eager to know about the life of our Beloved
Prophet SAW. Starting our journey from the ancient times of Prophet Ibrahim AS, we have now
reached a crucial point in history – the birth of our Beloved Prophet SAW.

The last previous weeks, we had been exploring the story of the Army of Elephants. The
incident happened in Makkah, 50 days before the birth of RasoolAllah SAW.

The story of the Army of Elephants was no ordinary thing. It was a miracle of Allah and a sign
that told that something even more amazing was going to happen soon.

As the birth of the Prophet Muhammad SAW was nearing by, many more miracles happened in
all corners of the world. All those miracles signalled the same thing: the face of this Earth was
going to change soon!

So, what exactly happened at that time and where? Here, I’ll narrate some of the extraordinary
things that happened around the time of the birth of RasoolAllah SAW.

In those days, the world was divided into two superpowers. There was the powerful Persian
Empire in the East and the majestic Roman Empire in the west. The land of Arabia lied in
between those superpowers.

Let’s first go to the Persian Empire in the East and see what happened there around that time.

The Persian Empire was a land full of fire worshipping people. The land was dotted with fire
temples all over the place. But one particular fire temple stood out from the rest. There was
something special about it that made it famous and drew a large number of people towards it.
That temple had a huge flaming fire that had been burning for more than a thousand years. For
a thousand years, noone had been able to put out that enormous blazing fire.

But on the blessed night when RasoolAllah SAW was going to come into this world, that blazing
fire disappeared in an instant without any reason. Word spread around the land of Persia about
the fire that had been extinguished. People were baffled as they tried to find out what had
happened but they couldn’t find any reason or cause for the disappearing fire. They tried to light
up the fire again but no matter what they did, they weren’t able to do so. This mystery was
nothing but a miracle that signalled to the land of Persia that times were soon going to change.
These fire worshipping people were soon going to turn towards the One True God of this world.

Persia was also famous for its grand and magnificent palace – the castle of the Emperor of
Persia. That castle was known to be unbreakable and faultless. But on the blessed night of the
birth of RasoolAllah SAW, 14 pillars of that glorious castle fell down and broke. Baffled and
shocked, the Emperor of Persia called his men to investigate what had happened. But noone
could find the real cause of these pillars falling down. There was only one reason they could
come up with: this was an extraoridnary thing that gave a signal that the Persians will soon lose
their power.

At yet another place in Persia, there was a huge and vast lake, Lake Sawah. It was so huge and
so vast that large ships used to sail on it. The lake was also worshipped by some ignorant
people of Persia. But do you know what happened on that blessed night? The whole lake dried
up and disappeared. How can so much water disappear from the face of the Earth? That was
baffling indeed! And it was again a signal that the face of the Earth was soon going to change.

A queer thing happened in the other part of the world as well – the Roman Empire. The people
of the Roman Empire followed the religion of Christianity. They believed in Prophet Essa AS but
they had brought many changes to the true religion that Prophet Essa AS had brought. Instead
of believing that Prophet Essa AS was a prophet and a messenger of Allah, the people had
started taking him as the son of God. Instead of worshipping the One True God, they used to
associate partners with Allah. They even made idols of Prophet Essa AS and kept them in their
churches. Though Prophet Essa AS had brought the real and true religion of Allah, the religion
was now distorted because of the changes people had brought.

So, on that blessed night, the Roman Emperor suddenly felt scared without any reason. There
seemed to be no enemy threat and no other real cause for his fear but he still felt shaky and
scared. When he went to his church to pray, he found that the idol of Prophet Essa AS was lying
on the ground. He panicked to see the idol fallen down on the floor but when he tried to lift it up,
the idol fell down again. No matter what he did, he couldn’t keep the idol up! This bizarre
incident was a signal that something was going to happen that would lift up this ignorance from
around the world. The idol worshipping era would soon come to an end!
A similar thing happened in the land of Arabia as well. On that blessed night, the Holy Kaaba
shook with a force that looked like an Earthquake. Because of that, all the idols that the ignorant
people had kept in the Kaaba fell down on their faces.

This happened not only in Makkah but all over the world. On that blessed night, all the idols of
this world – whether it was an idol in a church, temple or home – fell down on their faces.

Afterall, something amazing had happened indeed! Our Beloved Prophet SAW had arrived in
this world. It was Monday, the 12th of Rabbiul Awwal. The year was known as the Year of The
Elephant. The city was Makkah, the home of the Kaaba.

It was in this time and place that our Beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW was born in the house
of Bibi Amna and Hazrat Abdullah.

All these miracles narrated above were a sign that the idols of this world wouldn’t be able to
survive very long. The ignorant customs and the evil practice of idol worshipping would soon
come to an end.
