An endangered animal is a population of organisms which
is facing a high risk of becoming extinct because it is either
few in numbers, or threatened by changing environmental
factors.

For conservation purposes animals are classified into:


Extinct, Extinct in wild, Critically Endangered, Endangered,
Vulnerable, Near threatened, Least concern.
