1. Abstract
The training and placement system is aimed at developing an online website for the training
and placement department of the college. The system is an online application that can be
accessed throughout the organization and outside. The training and placement cell can be used
as a website for the training and placement office of the college to manage the student
information with regards to placement. The database is created using python and oracle
database.

2. Introduction
The use of Internet and World Wide Web revolutionized the provision of information and the
facility for the user to take action on the information obtained. The use of internet enables users
to manage placement process. This led to a unique web based placement management system
developed specifically by the placements practitioner and the software programmer to become
Placement Support system. In these day's everyone seems to move for jobs after completion of
their graduation. It has become need for every student, but for that they need to travel worldwide
in searching of jobs. For simplicity of these whole hectic procedures we propose Online
Training and Placement System for maintaining records, time saving and easy to maintain
coordination between student and companies. In our software the database is created for student
and companies for their convenience. This method provide an easy way to students for keeping
online records they hold and also companies get benefitted as the can retrieve students details
in proper and managed way so that the selection will become easier.

4.Scope of project:

Training and placement Management system aims at the automation of following processes:
. Allowing the facilities of maintaining details of students
. The proposed system intends user-friendly operations which may resolve ambiguity. Time
saving
.Creating online platform for both student and admin for maintaining records related to
placement.
5.Data Requirements:
Data, in the context of databases, refers to all the single items that are stored in a
database, either individually or as a set. Data in a database is primarily stored in database
tables, which are organized into columns that dictate the data types stored therein. We
need to know the data or information of the students, admin , company.
Students:
A) Student can register himself/herself in the system. This is a fully automated
process assign verification using admin.
B) Student can view their details and even update his/her details if required.
C) Student can apply for the type of job they want.
D) Student can even apply for the training if needed.

Admin:
A)Only admin should have the rights to change the user details.
B) Only admin should have the rights to change the policy details.
C) Admin should have right to remove any candidates or approve the request of any
candidates.

Company:
A) Company can place any kind of advertisement if there is vaccancy.
B) Company can have some particular online tests for candidates for given
vaccancy and also can call for interview after the evaluation.
C) Company can reject the request if requirement is not fulfilled.

4. Functional Requirements:
A functional requirement defines a function of a system or its component, where a
function is described as a specification of behaviour between outputs and inputs. The aim
of the Training and Placement Cell Management System is to develop a system of
improved facilities. The system provides proper security and reduces the manual work.

A) Scenario of removal of old data:


1. First Scenario:
Technical requirements- I)Remove old records thereby increasing the applications
response times.

II) Remove old records cluttering inquiry screens.

2. Second Scenario:
Business requirements- I)Inactive id for longer period of time should be
considered as expired and their data should be removed.
II) Repeated data should be removed.

B) Scenario for modification of existing data:


1. First Scenario:
Technical requirements- I) Modify the records to update information.
II) Modify the the existing data in order to check active or inactive accounts.

2. Second Scenario:
Business requirements-I) Modify the data in order to evaluate the candidates.

C) Scenario of data retrieval:


1. First Scenario:
Technical requirements- I) Allow reporting of data based on individual point sources .
II)Able to modify previously entered data in database.
III) Able to include calculation for estimated data.

2. Second Scenario:
Business Requirements- I) Retrieve the report of missing data from database.

II) Able to administer user rights.


III) Modify the structure of database.
