Oracle Project Management – Mass Update plan end dates

Background
We currently utilise Oracle Project Mangement (PJT) for planning and budgeting.

During initial implementation (back in 2008) the GL calendar extended to the end of 2019 only and
therefore project planning was aligned to this. Earlier this year, an exercise was carried out to
update Project Task end dates. PJT manages Planning end dates which are derived from Project Task
end dates when plans lines are first created but not updated in line with task end dates.

Basic Requirement
We are therefore looking for a means to mass update Planning End dates associated with Financial
Plan lines in Oracle PJT.

Looking for help to:

- Suggest a method to mass update (if Possible) for example using APIs.
Previously Inoapps have worked on CEMLIs associated with PJT to import financial plan data.

- If a technical solution is not available, perhaps to suggest an alternative method to update.

For example Dataload or such tools.

- If neither the above are an option, would manually updating lines be an option?

The dates currently set are December 2019 and should be updated to 31-Dec-2050. The current
date is an issue due to the end of 2019 fast approaching.

Plan Types
We utilise five different plan types which are assigned to all projects. These are as below:

 AFE Plan Type

 Annual Budget
 Current Forecast
 Previous Forecast
 Prior Year

For the purposes of mass updating only AFE Plan Type, Annual Budget and Prior Year plan type
require to be updated (Current Forecast and Previous Forecast are updated via interface from APWX
forecasting application).

Plan Version
Only the current working version of the plan needs to be updated.

PA_budget_versions contains a column for budget_status_code which is W for working

Budget Lines

PA_budget_lines contains end date details.

Resource Assignments

Resource assignments are held in pa_resource_assignments and contain an end date therefore are
likely to require update also.

Options Already looked at

We have already investigated functional options of creating new plan versions but this would require
re-input of all planning elements.

Also adding end dates to Planning web ADI outputs has also been investigated but dates are not
updateable on the template (even when read only flag is set to No).

If there are any other functional options that you can suggest then these would be gratefully
received.
