The document discusses corruption in the Philippines and argues that it should be eliminated for three key reasons. First, corruption is slowly deteriorating the economy, as evidenced by the Pork Barrel Scam where government funds intended to help the poor were instead spent on officials' personal expenses. Second, corruption is degenerating the capabilities of institutions like the police, courts, and customs bureau by reducing their commitment to serve citizens. Third, corruption has depraved the morality and virtue of Filipino people by encouraging bribery of officials to expedite transactions. The author believes corruption must be eliminated to improve people's lives and achieve national unity.

What would you think and feel if you’re living in an unscrupulous
country? And every time you hear the word “corruption”, our government is capable is doing that. That is why there are a lot of people in our country suffered poverty and harsh circumstances. On the other hand, many government officials and chieftains had ruled the assets that made them wealthy but merely belong to our countrymen. I believe that corruption should be vanished because it’s slowly deteriorating our economy, country’s institutions’ capability and morality and virtue of the people.
First, I am against in corruption because it’s slowly deteriorating our
economy. The most popular evidence is the Pork Barrel Scam. Each government official is given a certain amount to help unfortunate Filipinos to rise out from poverty and develop to pursue their desired projects but it never put into action. It was then discovered that the officials spent the assets for their own personal wants. It could help the people and the country’s needs but it all went to waste.
Furthermore, I believe that corruption should be vanished in our
country because it’s slowly degenerating the country’s institutions’ capability. Corruption in high levels seriously restrain the capabilities of businesses operating in the Philippines. Extortion and manipulation by public officials are in great widespread. In Judicial System, bribes are common in return for favorable judicial decisions. Extortions are widespread in our National Police and also regarded as one of the most corrupt institutions in the country. Smuggling of goods in Bureau of Customs is very rampant and also the most corrupt government agency. All of the other government institution and agency also have inside jobs. They lost their commitment, importance and capability to serve the Filipino people. A final reason why I am against to corruption is because it depraved the morality and virtue of the people. What comes into our mind when we hear the word “corrupt’? Often it gives us a presentation of an official or government agency but that’s not that way always. In the survey found out in the Office of the Ombudsman that Filipino individuals and even families bribe government agencies. In our present setting, this is really an undeniable truth that most individua citizen wants a fast transaction in a agreement to pay officials. We all knew that government agencies and officials are prone to corruption but also the people themselves could be the bridges as well.
In conclusion, there may be specific reasons why corruption is
rampant until now and Is continuous; however, I am fully against to corruption. Corruption really destroys and devours the perspective mind of a person to have better life in the future. Maybe some are blinded of wealth, fame, and fortune but lost the true essence of unity. Lastly, if we don’t have unity in us thus, how can we achieve our goal to destroy corruption. Corruption should be vanished in our country.
