 The “REVISED AMHARIC BIBLE”

Information about this edition: Speech of July 23, 1961

Ethiopia, an island of Christianity, is recorded in

history as having received first the Old Testament,
and then the New Testament earlier than most of the
countries of the world. When, in Old Testament
times, she received the Law, and when, in New
Testament times, she received the Gospel, she
ensured that the Scriptures were translated into the
ancient language of GE'EZ. From those times to this,
various books both of spiritual and material profit
have periodically been compiled and written in
GE'EZ. We remember with deep gratitude those
fathers of old who, as time and opportunity allowed,
worked with much care and labour and have left us
books for the preservation of the Faith and for the
increase of learning and knowledge.

In former ages, GE'EZ was the language of the

country and so. even without an interpreter, the
people had no difficulty in examining and
understanding the books; but just as one age succeeds
another, so Amharic, Which sprang from GE'EZ,
gradually grew until it became the Common speech
of the people, taking the place of GE'EZ. At that time.
GE'EZ was understood by the learned People of the
Church; but was not readily understood by the
ordinary people. Arising from this, the scholars in
their preaching and work have for centuries been
forced in their teaching to interpret from GE'EZ into
Amharic. And these conditions prevailed until Our
own times.

Since the time when, by God's goodness, We were

chosen to ascend the Throne of Ethiopia and while
We have been leading Our people to progress in
learning and knowledge, We have laboured in every
way possible with an eye to their growth in spiritual
and material learning and knowledge. In. order to
reach this goal, and realizing that the first necessity
was to have the Scriptures translated into Amharic
and printed in bulk, in 1918 when We were still Heir
to the Throne and Regent, We chose from amongst
the scholars some to translate the Scriptures and to
produce the translation alongside the GE'EZ. After
this, too, at Our private expense We had a printing
machine brought from Europe, established a Printing
Press, and began to have books printed. Some of the
books which We caused to be printed in GE'EZ and
Amharic at that time, read in churches and homes,
have been found profitable to the establishment of
faith and to spiritual strengthening. After that, noting
that the mind of the people continued to grow in
understanding, We arranged for a word-for-word
translation into Amharic of the books of the Old and
New Testaments. Our scholars completed the
translation and presented it to Us in 1931, and We
ordered its printing. While the book was still in the
Press, however, enemy aggression in 1935 halted the
work. Even so, when in exile in London, We gave
permission for this same Bible to be printed by
photo-offset, and it was duly issued. By this Book,
Our Ethiopian subjects in exile in many countries
held fast to their faith and presented their petitions to
Almighty God as they awaited the restoration of
Ethiopia.

When, all honour and praise be to God, We had

brought about the liberation of Ethiopia and had
entered Our Empire, realizing that there ought to be a
revision from the original Hebrew and Greek of the
existing translation of the Bible, We chose scholars
qualified for the work of Biblical training and on
March 6th, 1947 set up a Bible Committee in Our
Palace. The Committee worked with diligence for
some five years, and on April 19th. 1952 presented
the translation to Us. We give heartfelt thanks to all
who helped Us in this work. All the ancient
Scriptures were written for Our instruction, in order
that through the encouragement they give Us, we
may maintain Our hope with fortitude. Because We
desire that the light which comes from the Scriptures
may shine to all, this Bible by Our command and will
has been revised and printed in the Thirty-First year
of Our reign.

 ANCIENT NUMBERING OF THE PSALMS
PUBLISHERS ADDITIONAL NOTE: The Emperor’s Bible, the
1961/2 A.D. Authorized H.I.M. HAILE SELLASSIE I Revised
Amharic Bible [RAB], and our Amharic Psalms of King David,
published by the Lion of Judah Society, follows the ancient
Tehillim, or Hebraic “Psalms of David” in respect to the
numbering of the Psalms. Therefore, the following note and
chart may be helpful and useful.
As you may have noticed, if you have had the opportunity to
look at other Bibles, in particular, the Emperor’s Bible, they list
two numbers for many Psalms of David. You may have also
noticed that sometimes a Psalm reference is often off by one.
The general explanation for this is that the traditional Christian
numbering of the Psalms (as found in the Greek Septuagint,
Latin Vulgate, and also, namely – the KJV) differ from certain
versions of the Hebrew and modern English KJV. The Ethiopic
[and, Amharic] numbering of the Psalms number 9 and 10 in
the more ancient and biblical Hebrew, or pre-Masoretic, along
with the Authorized H.I.M. HAILE SELLASSIE I Revised
Amharic Bible are joined together as one Psalm.

* Psalms 9 and 10 in Hebrew are joined together as Psalm 9 in the

Greek/Latin versions. In the later English versions of the Psalms,
Psalm 9 has been separated from Psalm 10. The table that now is
presented as follows, hopefully and prayerfully, will indeed clarify
and illuminate, by a brief example, this important detail and often
overlooked issue:

2 i.e. the Ethiopic [GE’EZ] and the royal Amharic, the RAB, is the same as the
Greek LXX, or Septuagint version. It should be understood that the Emperor’s
Bible, the Revised Amharic Bible, follows this same ancient formula of joining
the Psalms as our chart seeks to explain and demonstrate by example. However,
for this parallel version, we have adopted the English KJV of the numbering for
the purposes of comparison and simplicity.

The Book of Genesis (i.e., Sefer Bereshit [‫שׁית‬ִ ‫ )] ֵספֶר בּ ְֵרא‬is concerned with beginnings: the creation of the
universe and the origin of humanity. It quickly moves from universal history (Adam, Noah, Babel) to the
history of the Abraham, the first Hebrew. The remainder of the book focuses on the lives of the Hebrew
patriarachs, matriarchs and especially the story of Joseph. The book ends with the entire family of Jacob
migrating to Egypt to escape famine through the auspices of Joseph.

The Book of Exodus (i.e., Sefer Shemot [‫שׁמוֹת‬ ְ ‫ )] ֵספֶר‬tells the story of how the family of Jacob became a great
nation, Israel. The book tells of the "Hebrew Bondage," and subsequent deliverance with the 10 plagues by the
hand of the LORD. Moses leads the people out of Egypt, crossing the Red Sea. They arrive at Sinai, where
they receive the Torah. While Moses is on the mountain, the people worship a Golden Calf. The remainder of
the book describes the details and construction of the Mishkan (Tabernacle).

There are forty chapters in Exodus, divided into eleven weekly readings:

The Book of Leviticus (i.e., Sefer Vayikra [‫ )] ֵספֶר ַויּ ִקְ ָרא‬is the book of the priesthood of ancient Israel,
concerning ritual and sacrificial laws pertaining to the Mishkan (tabernacle, and later the Temple). The book
describes the details of offering various sacrifices to the LORD, and especially emphasizes ritual purity and
holiness. In fact, nearly half of the 613 commandments of the Torah are found in this book (and much of the
Talmud is based on it).

The Book of Numbers (i.e., Sefer Bemidbar [‫ )] ֵספֶר ְבּ ִמדְ בַּר‬details how the tribes of Israel were counted and
meticulously arranged into military camp formation around the Mishkan (tabernacle). Led by the Shechinah
cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night, at first they were en route to the Promised Land - the land of
Canaan - which the LORD swore to give to Abraham and his descendants forever. However, the people
rebelled and were condemned to wander for 40 years in the desert.

In the final book of Torah, Sefer ha'Devarim (‫) ֵספֶר הַדְּ ב ִָרים‬, Moses reviews the history and the laws given to the
Israelite people (the Greek name Deuteronomy comes from the phrase Mishneh haTorah (Deut. 17:18), which
means "the second telling of the law"). Obeying God's laws will bring blessing, while spurning them will bring
disaster. Idolatry is repeatedly denounced.

There are 54 Torah portions, one for each week of a leap year, so that in the course of a year, beginning and
ending on the Simchat Torah, we read the entire Torah in our services. During non-leap years, there are 50
weeks, so some of the shorter portions are doubled up (a leap-year adds an additional month (4 weeks) to the
usual 12 (called Adar II); a Jewish calendar will indicate if a year is a leap year).

Quick Facts About FASTING:
Fasting is prayer and abstinence from food and drink to attain forgiveness of sins and
reward of the soul. It serves to weaken the force of the body so that the body may obey
the soul. Fasting is more than prayer abstinence from eating meat and meat products.
Fasting includes avoiding works of Satan and all wrongdoings in general. Special days
are appointed for fasting.

Our Lord Christ has taught us that fasting with prayer has the power of driving away evil
spirits (Matt. 17:21). During fasting, consumption of animal products is prohibited. These
include meat, egg, butter, milk, cheese and anything that contains these products. ("#$
&'(#/Fitha Negest/Feteha Nagast). However, in true fasting, the eyes are kept from
seeing, the mouth from speaking, and the ear from hearing evil things. Fasting has
perpetual relation with religion though the way it is practiced differs from religion to
religion.

Fasting Days:

days after Easter and also if the Feasts of Christmas and Epiphany fall on

Christmas and which lasts for some 40 days. It begins with Sibket on
15th of the Ethiopian month of Hedar and ends on Christmas Eve with
the feast of Gena on the 28th of Tahsas.
3. 35 '89/The Gahad of Epiphany: the fast on the eves of Epiphany and
Christmas
4. The Great Lent: This fast is also known as Fast of Hudade or A6;
34/Abiy Tsom. It is moveable and lasts for fifty five days
5. Jonah's Fast of three days also known as Fast of Ninevah (35
&&</Nenawe): This is also a fast of movable dates and is observed in
commemoration of the preaching of Jonah. It comes on Monday,
Tuesday and Wednesday of the third week before Lent.
6. Apostles' Fast (35 $=17#/Tsome Hawariat): It begins on Monday after
Pentecost and ends on the 5th of July.
7. Assumption of St. Virgin Mary (35 ">?@ AB174/Tsome Filseta):
This fast is held from August 1-15 and is dearly observed by many.

Spring is the start of the Biblical Year and is marked by
two of the Shelosh Regalim (three annual pilgrimage
festivals): Pesach (Passover) and Shavuot (Pentecost).
Shavuot is held seven weeks (or fifty days) following the
morning after Pesach.
In the summer there occurs a three week period of
mourning that begins with the Fast of Tammuz and
ends with tragic holiday of Tishah B'Av. The last
nine days of this three week period (i.e., from Av 1
until Av 9th) are days of increased mourning. After

ልዑል እግዚአብሔር፡
ከዘመነ ማርቆስ ፡ ወደዘመነ ሉቃስ አሸጋግሮ፡
የኢትዮጵያን የነጻነት ህልውና በዓላችንን፡ ፯ሺ፭፻፲፪ኛ ዓመት፥
እና

የእግዝእተብሔር እም፡ ድንግል ማርያምን፡ ፪ሺ፳፰ኛ ዓመት፥

የእግዚአብሔር ወልድ፡ ኢየሱስ መሲሕን፡ ፪ሺ፲፪ኛ ዓመት፡
የትስብእት ልደታት በዓሎቻችንን፡ ለማክበር ለበቃንበት፡
ለዐዲሱ፡ የ፪ሺ፲፪ (፳፻፲፪) ዓመተ ምሕረት፡
እንኳን አደረሰን!

 ስለቀን መቁጠሪያው መግለጫ።
፩ኛ፦ ይህ የቀን መቍጠሪያ የተዘጋጀው፡ "ኢትዮጵያ፡ የዓለሙ መፋረጃ!" በሚለው፡
በ፲፱፻፺፫ ዓ.ም፣ ፳፻፱ ዓ.ም. እና ፳፻፲ ዓ. ም. በታተመው መጽሓፍ ውስጥ የተገለጹትንና ኣግባብነት
ያላቸውን ሓተታዎች መሠረት በማድረግ ነው።
፪ኛ፦ "በዘንዜከር" በተባለው፡ የየዕለቱ የጸሎት መግቢያ፡ ለመዓልቱና ለሌሊቱ ቅመራ፡ መነሻ
ኾኖ፡ ከሌሎቹ ቍጥሮች ጋር የሚደመረው የ፳፻፲፪ቱ (የዕሥራ ምእት ዐሠርቱ ወክልኤቱ)
[የ፪ሺ፲፪ኛው] ዓመተ ምሕረት፡ ዓበቅቴው፡ ፮ [ስድስት]፥ መጥቅዑ፡ ፳፬ [ኻያ ኣራት] ኾኗል።
፫ኛ፦ በቀን መቍጠሪያው ሠንጠረዥ ውስጥ፡ በስም ብቻ የተጠቀሱት፡ ቅዱሳንና ቅዱሳት
ነቢያትና ሐዋርያት፥ ጻድቃንና ሰማዕታት፡ ሌላ መግለጫ ካልተሰጠ በቀር፡ ዕረፍታቸውን፥ የኣኀዞቹ
[የቍጥሮቹ] የተለያዩ ቀለማት ደግሞ፡ ከዚህ የሚከተሉትን ኣብነቶች ያመለክታሉ፦
አ. ቀዩ፡ ዕለተ-ሰንበትን ["ቅዳሜ" ስትባል የኖረችውን]፣ ዕለተ-ሰንበት ዝልፍትን
[በ"እሑድ" የቀጠለችውን "ዘላለማዊቷን ሰንበት" (ዝልፍት)]፥ ዓበይት በዓላትንና ተከታታዮቹን
የፍስክ ዕለታትና ሳምንታት፣
በ. ኣረንጓዴው፡ ንኡሳን በዓላትን፣
ገ. ሰማያዊው፡ የኣጽዋማት ቀኖችንና ሳምንቶችን የሚያሳዩ ናቸው።
፬ኛ፦ መስከረም ፩ ቀን፦
ምናልባት፡ በእየራሳችን ድክመትና ስሕተት፥ ጕድለትና ጥፋት፡ ሥጋዊና
ነፍሳዊ፥ መንፈሳዊም ኹለንተናችንን፡ ያሳደፍንበትና ያበላሸንበት፥ ያሰነካከልንበትና ያስረጀንበት፡
ኣካላዊና ባሕርያዊ የኾነ፡ የኣምልኮ ምንዝርና ግብር ቢኖር፡ ያን ኹሉ፡ የርኵሰትና የልክስክስነት
ግብስብስና ዝባዝንኬ፡ በእውነተኛ ንስሓ፡ ፈጽመን፡ ከሰውነታችን በማስወገድ፡ ወዲያ ኣውጥተንና
ኣሽቀንጥረን ጥለን፣ ኹለንተናችንን፡ በመንፈስ ቅዱስ ጸጋዎች ኣንጽተን ያደስንባት፣
ከዚህም ጋር፡ ቅዱስ ቁርባናችን በኾነው፡ በሥጋ ወደሙ፡ ኹለንተናችንን
ቀድሰን፡ ሥጋችንንና ነፍሳችንን፥ መንፈሳችንንም፡ ለእግዝእተብሔር እም ድንግል ማርያም እና
ለልጇ ለወዳጇ እግዚአብሔር ወልድ ኢየሱስ መሲሕ የልደታት በዓላችን ክብር ያበቃንባት፣
ሰላማችንን ያስገኘልን፡ እግዚአብሔር ወልድ ኢየሱስ መሲሕ፡ ድኅነትን
[መዳንን] ካስገኘችልን፡ ከእግዝእተብሔር እም ድንግል ማርያም በመወለዱ፡ በቅዱሱ ኪዳን
የተጐናጸፍነውንና የተቀዳጀነውን፡ ዘለዓለማዊዉን የምሕረት ዘመን፡ የክብር ልብስና የሕይወት
አክሊል፡ እንደዓዲስ ተሿሚና ተሸላሚ ባለድል የተቀበልንባት፣
ከኣሮጌው፡ ወደዓዲሱ ዓመት የምንሸጋገርባትን ትንሿን ትርፍ የጳጉሜን ወር፡
በንስሓ፥ በጋድ ጾምነትና ንኡስ ሱባዔነት፡ የምስጋና ጾምና ጸሎት አድርገን ያሳለፍንላት መኾኗ
ሊዘከር [ሊታሰብ] ይገባል።
፭ኛ፦ በቀን መቍጠሪያው፡ እያንዳንዱ ሠንጠረዥ ግርጌ፡ ለየወሩ የተመደቡ ምንባቦች
ተሰናድተዋል። እነዚህ ምንባቦች የተዘጋጁት፡ በሳምንቱ የሥራ ቀኖች፡ በየዕለቱ፡ ለጧትና ለማታ፡
እጅግ ቢያንስ፡ ኹለት ምዕራፎችን፥ እንዲሁም፡ በየሰንበታቱ፥ በሌሎቹም፡ የበዓላትና የዕረፍት
ጊዜያት፡ በተቻለ መጠን፡ ምዕራፎቹን ጨማምሮ በማንበብ፡ ከቃለ-እግዚአብሔር ዝክረ-ነገር
ላለመራቅ እንደሚቻል በመገመት ነው። መዝሙረ ዳዊት፡ በየቀኑ፡ በጸሎት መልክ ስለሚደገም፡
በምንባቡ ውስጥ ኣልታከለም፤ ኣልተካተተም።

-፫-
 ፮ኛ፦ ጾሙና ጸሎቱ፥ የሱባዔው ጭምር፥ ምንባቡም፡ በግል፥ በቤተሰብ፥ ወይም፡ በኅብረት
በመሰባሰብ ሊካኼድ ይቻላል።
፯ኛ፦ ይህን የቀን መቍጠሪያ፣ እንዲሁም፡ "አዳምና ሔዋን፡ በኢትዮጵያ!" በሚል፡ ዓቢይ ርእስ
ሥር፡ "ኣንደኛ መጽሓፍ፡ ኢትዮጵያዊው፡ በጦብያ ፍለጋ!"፥"ኹለተኛ መጽሓፍ፡ ኢትዮጵያዊው፡
በእውነት ፍለጋ!" እና "ሦስተኛ መጽሓፍ፡ ኢትዮጵያዊው፡ በእውቀት ፍለጋ!" በተጨማሪም፡
በኢትዮጵያኛ እና በእንግሊዝኛ የተዘጋጁ፡ «የቅዱሱ ኪዳን ሥርዓተ ትምህርት፡ ለኢትዮጵያ ሕፃናት፤
"አንደኛ እና ኹለተኛ መጻሕፍት"» የሚል ኣርእስት ያላቸውን ዕትሞች እና እየታተሙ ያሉትን፥
ደግሞም፡ "ምሥራች! ከእናት ኢትዮጵያ፤ ለኢትዮጵያ ልጆች፤ ስለኢትዮጵያዊነት።" ከእነዚህ በቀር፡
"ኢትዮጵያ እና ኢትዮጵያዊነት" በሚል አጠቃላይ ኣርእስት ሥር፡ "ኣንደኛ መጽሓፍ"፥ "ኹለተኛ
መጽሓፍ" እና "ሦስተኛ መጽሓፍ" ተብለው፡ በተከታታይ የወጡትን፥ እንዲሁም፡ ቀደም ብለው፡
"ምናሴ፡ የመከራዬ ደስታ፡ ዓለምን ረታ!"፥ "ኢትዮጵያዊው፡ በማንነቱ ፍለጋ!"፥ "ኢትዮጵያ፡
የዓለሙ መፋረጃ!" እና Ethiopia: The Classic Case በሚሉ ኣርእስት፣ እነዚህ ኹሉ፡ ለመጀመሪያ
ጊዜ፥ ኣንዳንዶቹም፡ ለኹለተኛና ሦስተኛ ጊዜያት ታትመው የወጡትንና እየተሠራጩ ያሉትን፥

"ወፈለግ ይወጽእ እምቅድሜሁ፡ ከመ ይሥቅያ ለገነት፤ ወእምህየ ይትፈለጥ፡ ለአርባዕቱ መአዝነ ዓለም። ...ወስሙ ለካልእ ፈለግ፡ 'ግዮን'፤

ገነትንም ያጠጣ ዘንድ፡ ከፊትለፊቱ፡ ወንዝ ይወጣ ነበር፤ ከዚያም፡ ወደኣራቱ የዓለም ማእዘኖች ይከፈላል። ...የኽለተኛውም ወንዝ ስሙ፡ 'ግዮን'
ነው፤ እሱም፡ የኢትዮጵያን ምድር፡ ዙሮ የሚያጠጣ ነው። ...እግዚአብሔርም፡ የፈጠረውን ሰው ወስዶ፡ ያርሳት፥ ይቆፍራት፥ ይጠብቃትና

፲ ኢየሱስ መሲሕ በ፵ ቀኑ፡በእናቱ ዕቅፍ ቤተ-መቅደስ የገባበት በዓለ- ፲፱ አጼ ይምራሕ ቀዳሚዎቹን የእስልምና ስደተኞች በኢትዮጵያ
ስምዖን ሓና ነቢይት አጼ ፋሲል፡ካቶሊክነትን ተቃውሞ፡ ኣስተናግዶ የሸኘውና እነርሱ፡"ነጋሽ" የሚሉት፡ኢትዮጵያዊ ንጉሥ።

፲፩ የሕፃኑ ኢየሱስና የቅድስት እናቱ ድንግል ማርያም ስደት መታሰቢያ ፳፫ የጽጌ ማሕሌት።
ጾም መግቢያ። ፳፰ ኣማኑኤል ገዳማዊ ይማአታ፡ ከ፱ኙ ቅዱሳን ፩ዱ።

እምውስተ እልክቱ [፳፬ቱ] ሊቃናት፦ 'ኢትብኪ! ናሁ፡ ሞአ አንበሳ፡ ዘእምነገደ ይሁዳ፣ እምውስተ ሥርዉ ለዳዊት፣ ከመ ይፍትሓ፡ ለይእቲ መጽሓፍ፥
ወለማኅተሚሃ!' የይሁዳ ኣንበሳ ደቦል! ከመደብህ ውጣ! ልጄ! እንደኣንበሳ ተኛህ፤ ኣንቀላፋህም፤ እንደኣንበሳ ደቦልም፡ ሊቀሰቅስህ የሚችል የለም።
መንግሥት፡ ከይሁዳ፥ የሕዝብ ኣስተዳደርም፡ ከወገኑ ኣይወጣም፤ ይህ ሥልጣን፡ የሚጠበቅለትን፣ ለኣሕዛብም ተስፋቸው የኾነውን፡ እርሱን እስከሚያገኝበት
ጊዜ ድረስ። ...በዙፋኑም ላይ በተቀመጠው፡ በቀኝ እጁ ያለችውን መጽሓፍ ሊዘረጋ፥ ሊመለከታትም የሚገባው፡ ማንም ስላልተገኘ፡ ብዙዎች ኣለቀሱ፣
እኔም ዓብሬአቸው ኣለቀስሁ። ከእነዚያ [ከ፳፬ቱ] ሊቃናት መካከል፡ ኣንዱ፦ 'ኣታልቅስ! እነሆ፡ ከይሁዳ ነገድ የኾነው ኣንበሳ፣ እርሱም፡ የዳዊት ሥር፡
መጽሓፏን ይዘረጋ ዘንድ፥ ማኅተሟንም ይፈታ ዘንድ፡ ድል ነሥቷል!' ኣለኝ።" የሚለውን፡ የእግዚአብሔር ቃል፡ የኢትዮጵያ ልጆች፡ በሃይማኖት ተቀብለው፡

፰ ማትያስ፡ ከ፲፪ቱ ሓዋርያት ፩ዱ። የተቋቋመ፣ በእስላም ወራሪ፡ ሰማዕትነትን የተቀበለ።
፲፩ ገዳማዊ ኣሌፍ፡ ከ፱ኙ ቅዱሳን ፩ዱ። ፳፰ የሰሙነ ሕማማት መግቢያ ቈስጠንጢኖስ ቄሣር:
፲፫ ገብር-ኄር። ስለሃይማኖትና ስለፍትሓ-ነገሥት ዝግጅት፡ የ፫፻፲፰ ሊቃውንት
፳ ኒቆዲሞስ። ጉባኤን፡ በኒቅያ ኣሰባሰበ።
፳፫ ዳንኤል ነቢይ። ፴ የኣይሁድ ሸንጎ፡ ኢየሱስ መሲሕን ለመግደል ወሰነ።

"'ናሁ ይመጽእ መዋዕል!' ይቤ እግዚአብሔር፣ 'ወአቀውም ለዳዊት፡ ሠርፀ ጽድቅ፤ ወይነግሥ ንጉሥ፡ ዘይኄሊ፣ ወይገብር ጽድቀ፥
ወርትዐ፡ በዲበ ምድር። ...ወይሠርፅ ጽድቅ፡ በመዋዕሊሁ፤ ወብዙኅ ሰላም፡ እስከ የኀልፍ ወርኅ። ወይኴንን እምባሕር፡ እስከባሕር፤
ወእምአፍላግ፡ እስከአጽናፈ ዓለም። ይገንዩ ቅድሜሁ ኢትዮጵያ፤ ወጸላእቱሂ፡ ሐመደ ይቀምሑ። ...እግዚአብሔርሰ፡ ንጉሥ ውእቱ፡
እምቅድመ ዓለም፤ ወገብረ መድኃኒተ በማእከለ ምድር። ...አንተ ሰበርከ ርእሱ፥ ወቀጥቀጥከ አርእስቲሁ ለከይሲ። ወወሀብኮሙ
ሲሳዮሙ፡ ለሕዝበ ኢትዮጵያ። 'እነሆ፡ ለዳዊት፡ የእውነት ቍጥቋጥ የማስነሣበት ጊዜ ይመጣል! እርሱም፡ በምድር ላይ፡ እውነትንና
ቅንነትን የሚያስብና የሚያደርግ ንጉሥ ይኾናል!' ይላል እግዚአብሔር። ...በዘመኑ፡ እውነት ትከሠታለች፤የግብዝነቱም ወራት አልፎ፡
ሰላም ይበዛል። ከባሕር እስከባሕር፥ ከታላላቁ ወንዞች፡ እስከምድር ዳርቻ ያለውን ዓለም ያስተዳድራል። የኢትዮጵያ ልጆች፡ ዜጎቹ
ይኾናሉ። ጠላቶቹም፡ አፈር ይበላሉ። ...እግዚአብሔርማ፡ ከዓለም አስቀድሞ፡ ንጉሥ ነው! በምድርም መካከል፡ መድኃኒትን አደረገ።

፰ ማርቆስ ወንጌላዊ። በቅዱሱ ኪዳን ሃይማኖቷ መኾኑ ተረጋገጠ።

"ወንግሥተ ሳባ፡ ሰምዓት ስሞ ለሰሎሞን፣ ወስሞ ለእግዚአብሔር፤ መጽአት ትፍትኖ፡ ምስለ ጥበባ። ወቦአት ኢየሩሳሌም፡ በኃይል ክቡድ ፈድፋደ።...ወቦአት
ኀበ ሰሎሞን፤ ወተናገረቶ ኵሎ ዘሀሎ ውስተ ልባ። ...ወወሀበቶ ለሰሎሞን፡ ምእተ፥ ወዕሥራ መካልየ ዘወርቅ፥ ወአፈዋተ ፈድፋደ ብዙኀ፥ ወዕንቈ ክቡረ፤
ወአልቦ አመ መጽአ ብዙኀ አፈዋተ፡ ዘከመ አሜሃ፡ ዘወሀበት ንግሥተ ሳባ፡ ለሰሎሞን። የሳባ ንግሥት፡ የሰሎሞንን ስም፥ የእግዚአብሔርም ስም፡ በእርሱ
ሲጠራ በሰማች ጊዜ፡ ስለሃይማኖቱና ስለእውነተኛ ማንነቱ፡ በጥበቧ ትፈትነው ዘንድ፡ እጅግ ብዙ ከኾነ ሠራዊትና ጓዝ ጋር፡ ከኢትዮጵያ፡ ወደኢየሩሳሌም
መጣች።...ወደሰሎሞንም ገባች፤ በልቧ ውስጥ ያለውን ኹሉ፡ ገልጣ ነገረችው። መቶ ሃያ የወርቅ መክሊትን፥ እጅግ ብዙ የኾነ ሽቱን፥ የከበረ ዕንቍንም [ሉልን]
ሰጠችው። የዚያን ጊዜ፡ የሳባ ንግሥት፡ ለሰሎሞን የሰጠችውን፡ ያን የመሰለ ብዛት ያለው ስጦታ፡ ከዚያ ወዲያ አልመጣም።" የትንቢቱ ፍጻሜና ዘላለማዊው
ንጉሥ ኢየሱስ መሲሕ፡ በምድር ላይ በተገለጠበት ጊዜ፡ ከእርሱ፡ ማስረጃ ምልክትን ለጠየቀው፡ ለዚያ፡ ከሃዲና ዓመፀኛ፥ ክፉና ዘማዊ ትውልድ፡ እንዲህ
የሚል የመጨረሻ መልስን ሰጠ፦ "ንግሥተ አዜብ ትትነሣእ፡ አመ ዕለተ ደይን፡ ምስለ ዛ ትውልድ፤ ወትትፋትሓ፥ ወታስተኃፍራ፤ እስመ መጽአት እምአጽናፈ
ምድር፡ ትስማዕ ጥበቢሁ ለሰሎሞን፤ ወናሁ፡ ዘየዐቢ እምሰሎሞን፡ ሀሎ ዝየ። ንግሥተ አዜብ (ኢትዮጵያ)፡ በፍርድ ቀን፡ ከዚህ ትውልድ ጋር ተነሥታ፡
ትፋረደዋለች፤ ታሳፍረዋለችም። የሰሎሞንን ጥበብ ለመስማት፡ ከምድር ዳር መጥታለችና። እነሆም፡ ከሰሎሞን የሚበልጥ፡ ከዚህ አለ።" ከዚህ ፍርድ ለመዳን፡
"ነገሥተ ምድር ሰብሕዎ ለእግዚአብሔር! ወዘምሩ ለአምላክነ! ወለኢትዮጵያ፡ ዘታበጽሕ እደዊሃ ኀበ እግዚአብሔር። እናንተ፡ በምድር ያላችሁ የሰዎች
መንግሥታት ኹሉ፡ ለፈጣሪያችሁ ለእግዚአብሔርና እጆቿን፡ ወደእርሱ ኣድርሳ ለምትኖረው፡ ለኢትዮጵያ፡ የእግዚአብሔር መንግሥት ዘምሩ! ምስጋናችሁንም

፭ ኢትዮጵያውያኑ ኤርምያስ ነቢይ፥ ደቀ-መዛሙርቱ፡ ፳፩ የደርግ፡ የክህደትና የዓመፅ አገዛዝ፡ በ፲፱፻፹፫ ዓ.ም. ተወገደ።

፮ ሰሎሜ ቅድስት፡ የደብረ ሊባኖሷ ኢትዮጵያዊት። ፳፬ የሓዋርያት ጾም መግቢያ ዕንባቆም ነቢይ።
፱ ዕሌኒ ንግሥት፡ የመሲሕ ኢየሱስን መስቀል ኣስቆፍራ ፳፭ ቅድስት ሰሎሜ፡ በሕፃኑ ኢየሱስና በቅድስት ድንግል እናቱ
ኣስገኘች። ስደት ያልተለየች።
፲ ኣናንያ፥ ኣዛርያና ሚሳኤል በሃይማኖታቸው ጽናት፡ ከባቢሎን ፳፮ ቶማስ፡ ከ፲፪ቱ ሓዋርያት ፩ዱ የጾመ- ድኅነት (የረቡዕና
እሳት ዳኑ። ዓርብ ጾም) መነሻ።
፲፩ ያሬድ ኢትዮጵያዊው ማሕሌታይ ካህን ገዳማዊ ኣሴር፡ ፳፯ ያዲስ ኣበባ ሕዝብ ከተቀጣጠሉት የጦር መሣሪያ ግምጃ
የባሌ መምህር። ቤቶች፡ የዕልቂት እሳተ ገሞራነት፡ በቅዱሱ ኪዳን፡ የከለላ
፲፪ ኣጼ እስክንድር፡ የእስላምን ወራሪ ጦር ሲከላከል፡ ኃይል ዳነ።
ሰማዕትነትን፡ በወጣትነቱ የተቀበለ ዮሓንስ ኣፈወርቅ። ፳፱ ገዳማዊ አፍጼ እና ገዳማዊ ጉባ፡ ከ፱ኙ ቅዱሳን ፪ቱ።
፲፫ ዕርገት የደብረ-ሊባኖስ ገዳም ኣባሎች፡ በ፲፱፻፳፱ ዓ.ም.
በፋሺስት ጣልያን ጦር ተሠዉ።
ሰላማችን ኢየሱስ መሲሕ፡ወደመቅደስ ወጥቶ ሲያስተምር፡ ሊገድሉት ለሚፈልጉት አይሁድ፡ "ኢትፍትሑ፡ በአድልዎ ገጽ! አላ፡ ፍትሐ-ጽድቅ ፍትሑ! ቅን
ፍርድን ፍረዱ እንጂ፡ መልክን ኣይታችሁ ኣትፍረዱ!" ኣላቸው። ለምን እንዲህ ኣላቸው? "መልክን ኣይታችሁ አትፍረዱ!" የሚለው የጌታ ቃል፡ ቀድሞ፡
በሙሴ ላይ፡የተነሣሣባቸው ቅንዓት የተከሠተው፡ በኢትዮጵያዊት ሚስቱ፡ በሲጳራ ምክንያት እንደነበረ ኹሉ፡ ኣኹን ደግሞ፡ በእርሱ፡ በኢየሱስ መሲሕ
ኢትዮጵያዊነት ላይ የተቀጣጠለ መኾኑን ሲያመለክታቸው እንደኾነ፡ ማስተዋል ነው። "'አኮ ከመ ደቂቀ ኢትዮጵያ አንትሙ በኀቤየ፡ ደቂቀ እስራኤል!' ይቤ
እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘኵሎ ይመልክ ስሙ። ስሙ፡ 'ኹሉን የሚገዛ' የኾነ እግዚአብሔር፡ ‹የእስራኤል ልጆች! እናንተ፡ በእኔ ዘንድ፡ እንደኢትዮጵያ ልጆች

"ወነበቦ መልአከ-እግዚአብሔር፡ ለፊልጶስ፤ ወይቤሎ፦ 'ተንሥእ! ወሑር፡ ጊዜ ቀትር፣ ፍኖተ በድው፡ ዘያወርድ፡ እምኢየሩሳሌም፡ ለጋዛ! ወተንሥአ፤ ወሖረ፤ ወረከበ፡
ብእሴ፡ እምሰብአ ኢትዮጵያ፣ ኅፅዋ ለሕንደኬ፡ ንግሥተ-ኢትዮጵያ፥ ወመጋቢሃ ውእቱ፡ ላዕለ ኵሉ መዛግብቲሃ። ወሖረ ኢየሩሳሌም ይስግድ። ወእንዘ ይገብእ፡ ነበረ ዲበ ሠረገላሁ፤
ወያነብብ፡ መጽሓፈ ኢሳይያስ ነቢይ። ወይቤሎ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ለፊልጶስ።- 'ሑር! ትልዎ፡ ለዝ ሠረገላ!' ...ወይቤሎ ኅፅው፥ ...ወአስተብቍዖ ለፊልጶስ፡ ከመ ይዕርግ፥ ወይንበር
ኅቡረ ምስሌሁ። የእግዚአብሔር መልአክ፡ ፊልጶስን፡ 'በቀትር ጊዜ ተነሥተህ፡ ከኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወደጋዛ ወደሚያወርደው፡ የምድረ-በዳ መንገድ ኺድ!' ኣለው። ተነሥቶም ኼደ።
እነሆም፡ ከኢትዮጵያ ሰዎች የኾነ አንድ ሰውን ኣገኘ። እርሱም፡ 'ሕንደኬ' የተባለች የኢትዮጵያ ንግሥት ጃንደረባዋ የኾነ፥ በሀብቷም ላይ ኹሉ የሠለጠነ፡ በዥሮንዷ ነው፤
ወደኢየሩሳሌም መጥቶ፡ ከተሳለመ በኋላ፡ በሠረገላው ተቀምጦ ሲመለስ፡ የነቢዩን የኢሳይያስን መጽሓፍ እያነበበ ነበረ። መንፈስ ቅዱስም፡ ፊልጶስን፦ 'ኺድ! ይህን ሠረገላ
ተከተል!' ኣለው። ...ጃንደረባውም፡ ፊልጶስን ኣናገረው፤ ወደሠረገላው ወጥቶ፡ ከእርሱ ጋር ዓብሮት እንዲቀመጥም ለመነው።" የዓዲስ ኪዳኑ ኣቤሜሌክ የኾነው ጃንደረባም፡
ወዲያው፡ "ኢየሱስ መሲሕ፡ የእግዚአብሔር ልጅ እንደኾነ ኣምናለሁ!" ስላለ፡ ፊልጶስ፡ እዚያው አጠመቀው። ከጥምቀቱም በኋላ፡ ጃንደረባው አቤሜሌክ፡ በተደረገለት፡ መለኮታዊ
የቸርነት ሥራ፥ በተቀዳጀውም፡ ዘለዓለማዊ፡ የመንፈስ ቅዱስ ብፅዕና፡ በደስታ እጅግ ተመሥጦ ስለነበረ፡ ፊልጶስ፡ ከአጠገቡ፡ በመንፈስ ቅዱስ ተነጥቆ የመወሰዱን ተአምር

ካህናትና ሰማዕት የኢትዮጵያ ልጆች፡ ጦቢያና ጦቢት። ፴ ማርያም ክብራ (እቴጌ ናዖድ ሞገሳ) የኣጼ ናዖድ ሚስት።

"ወአንጐርጐሩ አይሁድ በእንቲአሁ፣ እስመ ይቤሎሙ፦ 'አነ ውእቱ፡ ኅብስተ-ሕይወት፣ ዘወረደ እምሰማይ!' ወይቤሉ፦ 'እፎ ይክል ዝንቱ፡ የሀበነ ሥጋሁ
ንብላዕ?' እንግዴህ፡ ኢየሱስ፡ 'ከሰማይ የወረደ እንጀራ፡ እኔ ነኝ!' ስላላቸው፡ ኣይሁድ፡ ስለእርሱ ኣንጐራጐሩ፤ 'እንዴትስ፡ ይህ ሰው፡ ሥጋውን እንበላ ዘንድ
ሊሰጠን ይችላል?' ኣሉም።" ከዚህ የተነሣ፡ "ወብዙኃን፡ እምአርዳኢሁ፡ እለ ሰምዑ፡ ወይቤሉ፡ 'ዕፁብ ዝንቱ ነገር! ወመኑ ይክል ሰሚዖቶ? ...ወገብኡ
ድኅሬሆሙ፤ ወኢሖሩ እንከ ምስሌሁ።' ከደቀ-መዛሙርቱ መካከል ሳይቀር፡ ይህን የሰሙ፡ ብዙዎች፡ 'ይህ፡ የሚያስጨንቅ ንግግር ነው! ማን ሊሰማው ይችላል?'
ብለው፡ እርሱን መከተልን ትተው፡ ወደኋላቸው ተመለሱ።" በዚህ ጊዜ፡ ሰላማችን ኢየሱስ መሲሕ፡ "አማን አማን እብለክሙ! እመ ኢበላዕክሙ ሥጋሁ፡
ለወልደ ዕጓለ-እመሕያው፣ ወኢሰተይክሙ ደሞ፡ አልብክሙ ሕይወት ላዕሌክሙ። ዘበልዐ ሥጋየ፥ ወሰትየ ደምየ፡ ቦ ሕይወት ዘለዓለም። ወአነ አነሥኦ፡ በደኃሪት
ዕለት። እውነት እውነት እላችኋለሁ! የማርያምን ልጅ ሥጋ ካልበላችሁ፥ ደሙንም ካልጠጣችሁ፡ በእየራሳችሁ፡ ሕይወት የላችሁም። ሥጋዬን፡ የበላ፤ ደሜንም፡
የጠጣ፡ የዘለዓለም ሕይወት ኣለው። እኔም፡ በመጨረሻው ቀን ኣስነሣዋለሁ።" ሲል፡ ሊድን ለሚፈልግ፡ ለዓለሙ ሰብኣዊ ፍጡር ኹሉ፡ የመጨረሻ ዓዋጅ
