> How do you define happiness?

HAPPINESS for me is something that doesn’t happen out of anywhere

– it has to be worked on; it is being produced, created, discovered,
built from the ground up. And it has to be a decision in one’s mind: the
decision to be happy. I define happiness as a happy ending we long
for, as quite simple as that, believe it or not. I believe that one must
have a conviction to be happy no matter what trouble life throws at
them. Sometimes, life can undoubtedly disrupt our happiness, getting
in the way of them enjoying every day of it, with all the countless and
never-ending mishaps and suffering. Well, happiness, I think, is a
special feeling, something that comes to those who expect it and,
therefore, deserve it.

> What are the components of your personal happiness?

·0 Acceptance of myself

I believe that self acceptance is self love. Ever since I realized this
unforgiving way I am with myself, I noticed that it would be impossible
to be happier in the future, as long as I love myself for me and
appreciate all I am. I dont want to stop hating my body and mind I
was born with, but I want turn it into the best and most powerful ME!

·1 Use of my talents and keeping my passion

I believe that if we put any of our talents and skills in action, it will
work wonders for our feelings of self worth and confidence. When I
know of something that I am doing great in, I find ways to incorporate
it in my daily life. Confidence helps me internalize my talents, making
space for me to let go of my self doubt and prove to myself and to
others that this is what I can do and I am good at it. To see myself
succeeding in something I think I am good at, it gives my self
confidence an enormous boost!

·2 Helping others

Helping others is a big component of my personal happiness. I have

realized that being so caught up in thinking about our mental and
physical wellbeing, we lose sight of the fact that helping others and
caring for others is a big part of what makes us human and at peace
with ourselves. Shift my focus from myself onto my friends, and family
sometimes I ask myself: What could make them happy? With what
could I help them with? I did realize that helping others will also reflect
back onto my own inner peace.

·3 Being grateful

Being grateful, I think, is a big one. In a society of constant

comparison and the pressure of self improvement, I forget to cherish
what I already have. What living situation I am blessed with, having a
home, food and a job. Having caring parents or friends, financial
security and a dream that is achievable, is a great happiness.
Maintaining a positive outlook is key to happiness. We all know this is
easier said than done, when daily struggles always attempt to pull us
down to hopelessness. But to be genuinely happy, one must practice
being thankful, always look at the bright side, and focus on the
blessings. It helps also to write down these notes of thanks.

How this has helped me

So, whenever I feel unhappy or unbalanced, I check back on my little

recipe of happiness and go through all of these points. Mostly, when I
am having a bad day, I find one of the components lacking and to be
the source of my unhappiness. And this is also how I know what to
work on again. I deeply hope you can take away your own recipe of
happiness from here. Kisses x

> What are the factors that contribute to your happiness?

·4 Building strong relationships

I believe that building relationships whith my family, friends, and the

people around me is an important part of my happiness. Success and
wealth is never important , what important is being loved, sharing, and
giving love. When I am loved, I feel accepted and valued. When I love,
I am like giving a gift to others, which makes me feel good and useful.
I believe that it is not only part of our human needs to feel loved, but
it’s also a power we have to make others happy by showing them our
appreciation and thus create harmony. Giving and feeling love creates
a deep happiness within, that nothing can compare too. It doesn’t
matter if it is returned or not, it will all reflect back on our own inner
peace.

·5 Pursuing meaningful goals

I believe that in order to be happy we need a task in our life, that

makes us happy, and I think its is by pursuing my studies. I don’t
have to be part of something bigger, or change the world but mostly
we thrive off of doing work that has a positive impact in any way. At
the back of my mind, if I feel unhappy with pursuing my studies,
maybe it is because it’s lacking a more meaningful purpose.

·6 Good Health

I believe that there seems to be definite relation between health and

happiness. Healthier people are happy and happy people are healthier.
I believe that when I experience positive emotions frequently, it
requires fewer hospitalizations and are less prone to stroke and heart
attacks

·7 Success

I believe that in success contributes to my happiness, because it gives

me a feeling of fulfilment in everything I do. It seems to make people
happy and happy people tend to be more successful.
·8 Social Life

I believe that eventful social life contributes to my happiness, because

it helps me become more interactive. I believe that happy people are
more likeable. They tend to have successful friendships, positive
relationships, social engagement and, better interpersonal skills.
Happy people have better chances of getting successful quickly than
unhappy people. The position I have within my social group greatly
affects my self-esteem. Just like it is very different to have many
friends than few, although this may depend a lot on my particular
point of view. If I will cultivate healthy relationships, my level of
happiness will be much higher.

> What is the purpose of happiness in human existence?

The pursuit of happiness is the way of life. It keeps people believing

and having dreams and that it keeps people going. Attainment of a
goal gives brief pleasure and satisfaction. Once someone has achieved
their goal, they may or may not have something else to strive for.
