- It is necesary at 60.000km or after 5 years, but it is always better to check the system to
avoid oil fugues and check every 20.000km

- The tools that we’re going to use are the following:

- Socket wrench

Steps

1) 1. Lift the vehicle and take out the Wheel

Use the hydraulic Jack and the supports to lift the car and to manipulate the wheels. Then,
with a cross brace take out all the bolts and extract the Wheel from the shock absorber that
you want to dismantle.

2) Take out the support of the break lines and the stabilizer bar if necesary

In some models it can be necesary to extract this two elements before being able to extract
the shock absorber. The support is a Little hook that holds the break lines and you can extract
it by unscrewing it. To extrack the stabilizer bar take out the hook that attatches it to the car
with a wrench.
3) Take out the screws of the direction to loosen the shock absorber

Search in the zone of the Wheel the two of three long screws that held together the shock
absorber and the direction and take them out. To do this you may need to use the hammer a
Little bit in the direction and lubricate them, even if it’s not always necesary.

4) Take out the screws of the shock absorbers

Go to the Hood of the car and search the shock towers. They usually are attached to the sides
of the Hood and have a cilindric type of shape. When you find them, you have to take out the
three screws and the shock absorber Will be free to manipulate.

5) Extrac the shock absorber

When you are going to extract the shock absorber you can choose between compriming the
springs or to buy a new base for the shock absorber. Taking in count that the compressor is
worth 650 euros, it seems like a more economic option to buy the base. If you don’t wnat to
compress the strings, you just have to take out the shock absorber and the strings. In case that
you compress it, be carefull when you are doing it, take out the upper screw to take out the
shock absorber after doing it.

6) Put the new shock absorber

In case that you have bought a base, put again the base of the shock absorber in the direction,
being aware that the screws are well positioned. Then, putt he base in the shock towers and
tighten the screws with a wrench.

7) Put the Wheel again

Use the cross wrench top ut the Wheel in it’s place, be careful that you are not missing any
screw and then you finished.
Tools needed

Hydraulic Jack: to lift the car and be able to manipulate the wheels
Support pieces of hydraulic jack: to maintain the car and get more security.
-box tools: screwdrivers will lack, allen keys and an English
-Compressor spring: To remove the springs if you want to do????????
