Live load = 5.0 kN/m2
Dead Load = 0.4 kN/m3
Total Load (w) = 83.40 kN/m2

(I) CHECK PLYWOOD (ply of 18mm THK)

Consider 1000mm width,

Support Spacing, L = 250 mm ( also Secondary Girder spacing)
Design Concrete Pressure, w = 83.40 kN/m2
Cross-section Area, A = 18,000 mm2
Young's modulus, E = 10 kN/mm2
Moment of Inertia, I = 486,000 mm4

Allowable Bending Stress = 26.20 N/mm2
Allowable Shear Stress = 2.62 N/mm2
Max. allowable deflection = 0.003 m

Measurement of deflection
With our large panels, the tie points
can normally be taken as reference of
check points. In accordance with the di-
agram below, a straight edge is applied
in such a way that it touches the
stripped concrete wall, with the two
measuring wedges showing the same
deflection. This deflection it to be com-
pared to the permissible deflection.

Example:
TRIO panel 270 x 240: maximum defor- l = 2.03 m
mation is measured in the middle of max f
the panel.

According to DIN 18202, Fig. 2, with a

check point interval of about 2.0 m and
complying with Line 7, a maximum de-
flection of approx. 4.8 mm is permissi-
ble.

Straight edge

Measuring wedge

max f

Measuring wedge

The permissible deflection is always de-

termined from the check point interval
(here, the tie point interval).

Push-Pull Props, Kicker Braces
Load Capacity

General Notes

– all PERI push-pull props and kicker

braces are type-tested.

– the load capacity information refers

to use with symmetrical extensions.

– the connections are to be pin jointed

and made structurally adequate by
calculations in each individual case.
