Edwin Eugene Bagley is certainly best known for his famous march, “National Emblem,”
but he wrote several other pieces for his New England bands. Bagley was born in
Craftsbury, Vermont in 1857 and died in Keene, New Hampshire in 1922. He played
with many town bands and orchestras in the New England area and spent the last years
of his life directing New Hampshire school bands.
