Data Center Cleaning Requirements

Data Center Cleaning, 20 Square mtr, Work is to be completed Monday through Friday, 7:00am –
6:00pm. Computer Center is 150 square mtr and Consolidated Server room is 20 square mtr

Note: You will not need to clean any of the blinds; this will be done by our janitorial staff in the
building.

Duty Holder Responsibility:

1. After realizing all the cleaning, you must ensure that all the cables are placed safely, and you
must organize the room, to make it safe working in it.

Floor Tiles:

Surface Cleaning –

1. Vacuum floor, removing dirt/grime buildup with an approved vacuum with the proper
attachments.

2. Machine Scrub, if necessary, floor tile surface to remove dirt/film and restore as such as possible
to the original color. Remove spots, scuffs, adhesives, etc from floor surface, damp mop floor with
neutral/anti-static cleaner to remove residue.

3. There are 95 perforated floor tiles. These tiles will be removed from the data center for cleaning.
A designated area will be identified for this cleaning. Tiles must be replaced exactly in data center
from removed locations.

Sub Floor –

1. Clean/wipe the bottom of all tiles that can be removed.

2. Vacuum all sub-floor areas, giving special attention to each perforated air panel. All accessible
floor panels shall be removed in order to give access to as many stringers, pedestals, and panel
edges as possible.

3. Minimal tiles should be removed at a time to ensure adequate airflow/cooling is maintained.

As Tiles are removed from an area –

1. Under floor cleaning – vacuum under floor, remove any debris.

2. Clean floor tile runners (frames).

3. Clean floor support posts.

4. Clean/wipe the surface of any electrical junction box.

5. Clean/wipe metal electrical coax or grey power cable (do not disturb cable-surface wipe only).

6. Clean/wipe all CRAC water line support pipes in addition to metal plates in front of CRAC units.

7. Special attention may be required to clean under CRAC units (black stuff accumulation) – may
need to turn off unit to complete this task/clean.

Server Cabinets
1. 130 server cabinets – Mid-range

2. 30 cabinets – Enterprise

3. Clean/wipe inside & outside of all cabinet doors, include cabinet tops.

4. Clean inside of server cabinet floor (if accessible).

5. Clean/wipe the bottom of all tiles that cannot be removed (server cabinet area).

DATA CENTER SUPPORT AREAS


PRINT ROOM, Square footage is 750/500
1. Detailed cleaning of the entire room (Clean all surfaces except printers, PCs and monitors)

2. Cleaning to include floor tile surface and sub floor as noted above.

OPERATIONS CONSOL ROOM, Square footage is 800/400


1. Cleaning to include floor tile surface and sub floor as noted above.

2. Clean/wipe all surfaces – DO NOT clean PCs or monitors

OPERATIONS CONTROL ROOM, Square footage is 625/380


1. Cleaning to include floor tile surface and sub floor as noted above.

2. Clean/wipe all surfaces – DO NOT clean PCs or monitors

POLICE SERVER ROOM - Requires special access (Police staff on site), Square footage is
550/310
1. Cleaning to include floor tile surface and sub floor as noted above.

2. Clean/wipe inside & outside of all cabinet doors, include cabinet tops

3. Clean inside of server cabinet floor (if accessible)

4. Clean/wipe the bottom of all tiles that cannot be removed (server cabinet area)

NETWORK COMPUTING LAB, 150 Square in size

2. Vacuum front grills of UPS Systems (3 total)

3. Clean/wipe all surfaces of CPDUs (6 total)

4. Clean/wipe all CRAC water line support pipes in addition to metal plates in front of CRAC units. (8
total)

5. Special attention may be required to clean under CRAC units (black stuff accumulation, especially
CRAC # 3 & 4) – may need to turn off unit to complete this task/clean – data center facility staff will
assist.
