Investigation 1

(Related to Investigation 2 to 4)
Malaysian education system has constantly undergone changes in these past few
decades. The latest is about the transformation of the education system from exam
oriented system to more holistic system by introducing School Based Assessment
(SBA) at school. A research has been done in order to determine Mathematics
teachers’ readiness to conduct assessment using School Based Assessment (SBA)
within Johor state.
Investigation 1 (t-TEST)
Penyiasatan 1 (t-test)

10 male and 10 female secondary school teachers were chosen randomly to take
part in this study. table below shows the level of effectiveness of teaching practices
using SBA.

Hipotesis Null / Hº = Tiada perbezaan yang signifikan diantara jantina dengan

skor keberkesanan pengajaran menggunakan kaedah PBS

Hipotesis Alternatif / H¹ = Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan diantara jantina

dengan skor keberkesanan pengajaran menggunakan kaedah PBS

Tahap Kepercayaan / Confidence Level = 95 % atau 0.95

Tahap Signifikan / Significance Level = 5 % atau 0.05

Varians

nilai sig > 0.05 = nilai varian/varience dianggarkan sama

nilai sig < 0.05 = nilai varian/varience dianggarkan tidak sama

Levence's Test for Equality of Variences menunjukkan

sig (0.320 > 0.05) = maka varian/varience adalah sama


Jadi, gunakan data Equal Varience Assumed

The Degrees of Freedom (df)

df for the t statistic = df for the first sample + df for the second sample

df = df ¹ + df ²

df = (n¹ - 1) + (n² - 1)

df = (10-1) + (10-1)

df = 18

P > 0.05 = Hipotesis Null / Hº diterima Hipotesis Alternatif / H¹ ditolak


p < 0.05 = Hipotesis Null / Hº ditolak dan Hipotesis Alternatif / H¹ diterima

iii) Is there any significant different of preparedness between gender?

Tiada perbezaan yang signifikan antara jantina dengan skor keberkesanan


pengajaran menggunakan kaedah PBS.
Investigation 2 (ANOVA)

Penyiasatan 2 (ANOVA)

The level of readiness to implement SBA may be influenced by qualification level


Hence, the researcher wants to know whether there is a significant differences in
readiness between 3 groups of qualifications.

The data is as follows:

Use an ANOVA with ɑ=0.05 to determine whether there are any significant mean
differences in teachers' readiness among the three groups of qualifications with the
readiness of teacher.

Ujian ANOVA sehala / One Way ANOVA

Hipotesis Null / Hº = Tidak terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan tahap pendidikan

dengan kesediaan guru

Hipotesis Alternatif / H¹ = Terdapat terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan tahap

pendidikan dengan kesediaan guru

Tahap Kepercayaan / Confidence Level = 95 % atau 0.95

Tahap Signifikan / Significance Level = 5 % atau 0.05

nilai sig > 0.05 = nilai varian/varience dianggarkan sama

nilai sig < 0.05 = nilai varian/varience dianggarkan tidak sama

Test of Homogeneity of Variances menunjukkan

sig (0.583 > 0.05) = maka varian/varience adalah sama

Hal ini diperlukan kerana, salah satu syarat untuk membuat Ujian ANOVA Sehala /
One Way ANOVA adalah varian/veriance adalah sama.
Hasil analisis menggunakan Ujian ANOVA Sehala / One Way ANOVA
menunjukkan

Nilai Sig 0.004 < 0.05 = Maka hipotesis null di tolak dan hipotesis alternatif

diterima.

Kesimpulannya, Terdapat terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan tahap pendidikan


dengan kesediaan guru.

The table display the level of teachers’ readiness and effectiveness of teaching
practices after the implementation of SBA at school. The second alphabet in the
coding for each teacher represent qualification, the third digit represent gender.
Analyze the data to determine the differences with respect to effectiveness, gender
and level of highest education.

Analisa telah dijalankan pada penyiasatan 1 dan penyiasatan 2. Tiada


perbezaan yang signifikan antara jantina dan skor keberkesanan PBS

The study also aimed to investigate is there any correlation between teaching
experience and readiness to conduct SBA at school. The data obtained are as

i) Compute the Pearson correlation for these data and determine whether
there is a significant correlation between teaching experiences and teacher
preparedness to conduct SBA at school. Set alpha at 0.05, two tails.

Hasil analisis menggunakan Ujian Korelasi / Correlation Test menunjukkan

Nilai probabiliti (sig 2-Tailed) 0.000 < 0.05 = Maka hipotesis null di tolak dan

hipotesis alternatif diterima.


Untuk melihat kekuatan perhubungan, nilai Pearson Correlation (r) di lihat.

Nilai Pearson Correlation (r) adalah 0.78. ini menunjukkan kedua-dua varians

mempunyai perhubungan yang sangat kuat kerana melebihi nilai r 0.5

r > 0.5 = hubungan sangat kuat

r < 0.5 = hubungan kuat
