Media is the most powerful sector of an economy.

It is a tool to maintain a balanced society which is

characterized by well informed people, effective democracy and social justice. In fact, media has
unparallel influence on all aspects of human life in modern times.

Basically, the media performs three functions to inform, to influence and to entertain. But effects of
these functions are multidimensional in modern times. It has provided awareness about the whole
world. In twenty-first century, media has a tendency to shape political, economical and social values of
an individual. Moreover, media has eliminated the boundaries of information, so that a person can
become an active citizen of the global economy. Hence, it is logical to state the media has become a
basic need of human civic life.

The power of media lies in its functions, as it can be illustrated by realizing its political power. Media is
the cementing force of democracy, because it has supplemented the authority of people by giving them
awareness about political system and its functioning. And this is the reason for which media is
considered the fourth pillar of state. It strives for the rights of citizens to be served. In short, proper
functioning of media is pre requisite for democracy.

record, communicate, and stream pretty much anything.Being a responsible social media user starts

“Information is power. Conveying information is conveying power to people, empowering them”.The

characteristic of a responsible user of media information, they should follow netiquette. Netiquette
means etiquettes in using media. First, remember that we are human and we should handle media
information rationally and good purpose. Respect other’s time and bandwidth. We should share expert
knowledge, not just sharing nonsense media information. Lastly, do not abuse our power in handling
media information. Make sure its beneficial to others and knowledgeable. Since having the power comes
a great responsibility.

Much has been written about the current information age, how we are information overloaded, and
have access to tonnes of data and information everywhere, and how all that information is making us
feel anxious and confused. At the same time, little has been written about those situations in which the
lack of information can trigger similar feelings. Often, when we encounter a problem we go through the
above phases until we find the pieces of information we need that allows us to gain the understanding
we need. This understanding can or cannot be the solution to the problem, but it will help us find it or
deal with the problem. When a key piece of information is missing or the information given is incomplete
or misleading, we can get stuck in the initial phases experiencing anxiety and, sometimes, anger, because
we don’t know what to do.
