VKSPV is presently having 25 Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas (VKV), 24 in Assam & 1 in Nagaland. Total 12,132 students are gardened under the care of 643 teaching and 197 non-teaching members of staff ‘VKSPV organizes various activities to achieve the objective of "Man Making-Nation Building” and has initiated the Activity Ganit Prajna Samvarchan for studenis of classes Vi, Vi, & Vill in Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas of Assam. & Nagaland with the aim fo enhance the capacity in the subject Mathematics. Objectives of Ganit Prajna Pariksha (GPP) > To moasure how woll a student has understood concopte. > To identify students with Mathematical/Logical Intelligence for further grooming, > To provide teachers with a complete analysis of the learning ‘gaps of their students and the misconceptions they have. > To suggest remedial measures for underperforming stu- dents, > To increase students’ interest in Mathematics and make them comfortable with the subject. > lo inspire and taciitate the selected students (achievers) for a higher level. Few Words From Team GPP... Though the name Ganit Projna Pariksha (GPP) sounds lke a ‘minimal falent search exam, it is way beyond that. Having stared it 4 years back with only class Vi, GPP has been ‘extended subsequently and progressively fo one class each year. Now we have restricted it fo classes Vi, Vil and Vill only. For GPF sctioul level workshops ure conducled by leuchers of the venue schoo! as wall as visiting teachers from other VKVs have helped students a lot and it is reflected in their Performance and feedback. Development of class specific ‘GPP question bank Is an effort of our team to make every child practise on their own and gain confidence. Awarding merit Ccettificates fo all rank holders and the publication of this leaflet {arte also a few steps to motivate students. In some schools we have initiated measures for siow leamers also. The Ganit Prajna Samvardhan (GPS) is another step to ‘appreciate the efforts of first 10 rank holders from the concemed classes as well as to expose them to interactions with renowned mathematicians & educationists. GPS also ‘encapsulates learning of new tricks and methods in Maths and Visiting places of interest in the region. He started studying in Kamrup Academy School of Guwahati from Class VI. He became the fist Graduate from his village. He was one of the workers of Gauhati High Court when it started functioning in the year 1948.
