Subject Professor
Submitted by:
Project Environment:
The proposed system is intended to help RAKA teachers to input their student’s academic performance and grade results in the always-online web server using
proposed web-based application. With the proposed system, parents can inquire and view the academic performance of their children anytime and anywhere.
Objectives:
The objectives of the proposed project are the following:
a. To develop a web-based application as an additional/improvement module for the existing School Management Information System of Regina Assumpta Kids
Academy Inc. developed by the proposer.
b. To enable teachers to input academic performance of their pupils beyond working hours to meet deadlines on every submission of reports.
c. Parents can view and track the academic performance of their children online.
Product Aims:
The proposed additional system module aims to make the existing School Management Information System accessible online by teachers and currently registered
parents. The proposed system module also aims to eliminate the possible cause of delay on submission of reports; and parents can track the academic performance
of their children without visiting the school.
A structured methodology will be adopted to help produce the project document through the various stages systems development covering iteration of analysis, design
and coding up to implementation to produce unique product software for the agency. The appropriate Software Engineering tools, methods and techniques will be
used to convey the proposed model.
Academic Aim:
To utilize the skills and knowledge gained in NEUST Computing (IT) modules, in particular, Applications in IT, Systems Analysis & Design, Database Development, IT
Project Management, Information System Theory and Internet Technologies. Research and adopt a Systems Methodology for project development. Gain new skills
and knowledge in the areas of NEUST Computing (IT) modules.
a. Planning (Analysis): A proper planning will take place to determine the user and system requirements. A proposed model will be formulated, agreed and
documented. Deliverables: Project Charter, Project Schedule, Software Requirement Specification
b. Design: Determine how the system requirements (analysis) are to be met and achieved. Produce a design specification to provide the information necessary to
build the system. Deliverable: Software Design Specification
c. Build (Prototyping): In this stage, the system design output will be converted into programming codes to produce a unique product.
Deliverables: Prototype system.
d. Test (Debugging): The testing stage assesses the software for errors and documents bugs if there are any. All system users must test the prototype product to
ensure that all desired system functionality is included in the prototype system processes. In this stage, system users will request for changes if there is any.
Stage Output: Request for changes
e. Review (User Acceptance): The system users and project sponsor will validate the completed project scope.
Stage Output: Scope Validation Report
f. Launch (Deployments and Implementation) Stage: After a series of testing and debugging, the product is delivered and deployed to the user for actual
implementation. In this process, the entire development may be iterated if there are system modules that are subject for improvement during actual system
implementation.
Stage Output: Request for changes
g. Maintenance Stage: Produce the maintenance documentation which covers User Manual, Operation strategy for changeover from old to new, maintenance and
future enhancements.
Each development stage will be iterated and subject for revisions until desired product deliverables output have been attained.
A. Development Stage
B. Implementation Stage
