“PINK HOPE”

 Project Background

It is stated that “Breast cancer is an uncontrolled growth of breast cells.”. The most

common cancer in women is breast cancer, both in developed and developing world in

the past years. So many females are diagnosed by breast cancer- mothers, friends,

neighbors, relatives or even coworkers. It represents as a major universal problem. You

will hear other people, news outlets, in social media talking about breast cancer and how

to cure it. 40,000 women die in a year from this cancer, which is everyday one female

every 13 minutes dying from this disease. Early detection of breast cancer is far easier to

cure.

Today’s generation of learners focuses more on digital tools. And so, the proponents

came up with a solution to spread awareness about breast cancer and how to live a

healthy lifestyle to prevent further circumstances like having diseases.

“PINK HOPE” is a software app intended for women who are diagnosed by breast

cancer and an awareness to all the females about this disease such as stating in the

application about the information of the disease, conducting a test or quiz to understand

further, conducting a test about the symptoms, schedule of your appointments or exams,

reminders or notify you to eat and to exercise, and additionally, you can also share your

own story to the pink hope community, to inspire and motivate other women to fight and

not to lose hope.


The funding for this said project will come from the support of the organizations, private

agencies, donations and the local government unit. Supporting this project will help the

breast cancer patients, and also to spread awareness about the said disease.

The beneficiary of this project are, of course, breast cancer patients, through

donations because of this project, the proponents can help those people in need. It will

also help to spread awareness about breast cancer, what are the important information

and details, what are the symptoms and also how to live with a healthy lifestyle.

The expected outcomes once this app is released are: spread important information

about breast cancer, give them knowledge what is the disease all about, why it is relevant

to know the details, organize their schedules and their thoughts in this app. Furthermore,

it will help the people who are diagnosed by this disease to take care of their selves and

also to share their inspiring story to the women community.

 Significance of the Project

It’s clear that the use of Mobile Technology is growing fast and it is turning into a tool

to manage different aspects of our lives. “Pink Hope” will take advantage of the technology

to be an instrument and a voice to spread awareness of breast cancer and to collect funds

through voluntary help or donations using this app. This app will also encourage the

women to attend breast screenings in order to discover breast cancer as soon as possible

and increasing the chance of successfully treating and managing the disease. The funds

that will be collected will help the patients and help them to recover. The significance of

this app is to give them comfort. Furthermore, through this app they can discover and

meet other people like them or strangers that want to hear their stories. The proponents
aim to give them a beautiful and blissful experience through this app. This app that will

give them strength and inspiration to still fight and enjoy their lives.

 Methodology

The proponents will plan on how to spread the app to the public to further spread

the main message of the app, the researchers will make a strategy to attract the public

especially the women, because of the competitors. The design of the app will be related

to the logo and color of the breast cancer awareness campaign. But the main function of

this app is to help the breast cancer patients, and to spread awareness about breast

cancer. “Pink Hope: Smile, there’s hope” is the tagline of the app.

The proponents aim to finish developing the app within a year and planning to test

it on 40 females randomly on the streets. This app will be done on the month of breast

cancer awareness. The app is both accessible by women and men but this app focuses

on women.
