Content Standard The learners demonstrate understanding of how the parts of the human reproductive system
work
Performance Standard The Learners should be able to practice proper hygiene to care of the reproductive system
Learning Competency The learners should be able to describe the different parts of the reproductive system and
their function (S5LT-IIa-1)
I. Learning Objective 3.Give the function of each part of the male reproductive system (K)
4. Describe the function of the male reproductive system (U)
II. Subject Matter Parts and Function of the Male Reproductive System
A. Concept Function of Each Part of the Male Reproductive System
Testes- produces the male sex cells (sperms) and the male sex hormone called
testosterone
Scrotum- Holds or support the testes in place
- It controls the testes’ temperature because they must be slightly cooler than
the body to produce sperms
Epididymis- Serves as storage for sperms produced by the testicles
It brings the sperms to maturity
Vas Deferens- serves as the passageway of the sperm cells released from the testes
Seminal Vesicles-It contributes to the semen production
- It produces a sugar-rich fluid (fructose) that provides sperm with a source of
energy to help them move
Prostate Gland- secretes prostate fluid, one of the components of the semen which help to
nourish the sperm
Urethra-passageway of both urines from the urinary bladder and semen from the glands
Penis- pass urine out of the man’s body and to pass semen into the female organ during
mating
Cowper’s Gland- also called the bulbourethral gland- it is responsible for releasing fluid
that flushes out foreign matters and neutralizes the acidic urine in the urethra
B. Materials Unlabelled Illustration of the Male reproductive system
Meta cards, Chart, Task Sheet

E. Value Integration Cooperation, Awareness of the importance of the male reproductive system

Station 2

mating
Station 5
Cowper’s Gland- also called the bulbourethral gland- it is responsible for releasing
fluid that flushes out foreign matters and neutralizes the acidic urine in the urethra
(The teacher has the opportunity to introduce formal terms, definitions, and explanations for
concepts)
(Process Skills: Communicating,)
D. ELABORATE Concept Formation
- What is the function of each part of the Male Reproductive System?
“Pick a strip of cartolina displayed on the board where function is written and tag
it appropriately on the side of given part.”
- Have the pupils read the concepts learned, (Whole class, by group then
individually)

Do you like to find out how sperms travel through each part of the male reproductive
system?
Have pupils watch a video showing the path of the sperms cells as it travels from the
testes to the urethra
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4nEzMxgZaA
“Order Me Around Cards” (parts of the male reproductive system are printed in meta
cards)
Sequence the parts as to the correct path of the sperms cells
as it travels from the testes to the urethra
(Emphasize Awareness of the Importance of Male Reproductive System to highlight
the value)
(Process Skills: Communicating, Inferring,)
