ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

The researchers would like to express their sincere gratitude to their

Practical Research II adviser, Mrs. Crisel D. Suan for the continuous support

she shared that contributed to the accomplishment of the study and related

research. Also, for her sincere patience, motivation, and immense knowledge

endowed on the researchers of the study. Without her assistance and

dedicated involvement in every step of the process, this paper would have

never been accomplished.

Getting through their research required more than academic support,

and they have many people to express their greatest thanks for listening to

and the strong tolerance these people have showed to the researchers over

the past four months. The researchers expressed their gratitude and

appreciation for the friendship and moral support that Mr. Elarde Abaya, Ms.

ABSTRACT

Food meal intake is essential to every individual which has different

food preferences. Eating proper meal helps the development of every human

being in cognitive, understanding and activity performances. The main

purpose of this quantitative study was to determine the effect of meal intake of

Grade 12 Academic Track students and to determine the significant

relationship between their food meal intake and academic performance of

Grade 12 Academic Track students in their specialized subject. The results of

this study came from Grade 12 Academic Track students of Maryknoll College

of Panabo, Inc., that has a total population of 150 students, and Ninety-seven

(97) of them were randomly selected through simple random sampling and

were given survey questionnaire. As of the results, the data stated that there

is a significant relationship between food meal meal intake and academic

performance of Grade12 Academic Track students in their specialized

subject. In fact, there were three (3) factors that have significant relationships:

hunger of the students during their specialized subject, dizziness during their

class, and students’ skipping of meals for lunch.
