OPENING SKILLS (9 mnt)

Ms. Laras : Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb. Good morning class!

S : Waalaikumsalam Wr. Wb. Good morning Ma’am!
Ms. laras : “How are you today?”
S : Very well, Ma’am. Thank you! How’s about you, Ma’am?”
Ms. Laras : So do I, thank you! Well class, before we start our lesson today, lets pray
together! The leader of the class leads your friends to pray please!”
S : “Ok guys, lets pray together! In the name of Allah. The most merciful and
beneficent. Thank you for today. Thank you for your protection and love. Oh
Allah, help us to focus our hearts and minds now on what we are about to learn.
Please bring us out of the darkness of doubt and favor us with the light of
comprehension. Ameen”
Ms. laras : “Ok thank you Name! Let’s check your attendance. Does everyone present
today?”
S : “Yes, Ma’am!”(All students answer)
Ms. laras : “Ok good. Now we will discuss about interesting topics, the topic is
environmental pollution. Now I will give you some phenomenons to discuss”
(open slide 2).
“Do you feel comfortable if our environment full with smoke?
we know that smoke can be found everywhere. for example: on the highway,
S : *raise the hands* Mam, I'm not comfortable when there's smoke around me. I always cough
when there is smoke around me. for me, smoke is very disturbing
S : *raise the hands* me too, mam. my eyes are always sore when exposed to smoke. So, I
always wear glasses when driving
Ms. Laras: I think so, I also not comfortable in a smoke-filled environment. now look at this
picture (open slide 3). You know? This is the sea. How is your opinion?
S: I am very concerned about the condition of the sea. I can't imagine how the fish that live there.
can they survive?
Ms laras: anyone can answer please?
S: I think the fish can't survive because the ecosystem is disrupted by garbage
Ms. Laras: yes you are right, in these circumstances the fish may eat foods that contain garbage.
If the fish eaten by human, I think it is very dangerous. Do you agree with me?
*open slide 4*
S: I think so, ma’am
Ms. Laras: are you washing your own clothes, Name?
S: Yes Ma’am
Ms. Laras: how many times you wash clothes every week?
S: 2 times ma’am
Ms. Laras: do you know? This detergent foam is the rest of the laundry. How is your opinion?
S: I think the smells of the river is good, ma’am
Ms. Laras: what about water-soluble chemicals?
S: I think it is very dangerous for water organisms ma’am. And will cause death in aquatic
organisms
Ms. Laras: Yes, you are right. Detergent foam that dissolves in water is one of the causes of
pollution in water. Now, we will learn together about environmental pollution causes, damages,
and how to solve the environmental pollution in our live. So today, we are having learning goals:
first, we can…. (read 6th slide).

Asking Skills (9 mnt)

Ms. Laras: “Ok class, to grow your curiosity about environmental pollution, now I will give you
a video about the impact of environmental pollution. Pay attention to this video, so you know
about the concept.”

All students: “Yes Ma’am.”

(Playing the video)

Ms Laras: “Did you are all understand about that video?”

All students: “Yes we did, Ma’am.”

Ms. Laras: “Ok you’re great! Now, who wants to tell me about the contents of that video? Raise
your hand please.”

Rosyi: “The video tells about a tortoise which stucks in plastic that thrown in the sea. The
tortoise cannot moves because it was caught by plastic bottle and plastic rope”
Ms. Laras: “Ok good answer, Rosyi. Anyone else?”

Novia: “Me, Ma’am! There is someone who helps the tortoise that caught in a plastic trap”

Ms. Laras: “Yes, Novia. Your answer is same with Rosyi but you got the correct answer. Now,
class, based on your opinion, can you predict where are litters come from? Why it can flow to the
see?”
Irkham: “I think the litters are come from land. For example, from tourists who are on vacation
to the beach and bring plastic food. Then, they throw it away and the litters are carried by the sea
water until it caughts in the tortoise body.”
Ms Laras: “Wow, good analysis. Is it dangerous for tortoise?”
Pita: “I think it’s not dangerous, Ma’am. Because the tortoise will not eat the litters”
Ms. Laras: “Are you with Pita, class?”
Kusnul: “No, Ma’am”
Ms. Laras: “What is your reason, Kusnul?”
Kusnul: “I think litters which throw into the see are very dangerous. Like the video that has been
shown, litters will inhibit the movement of the organism”
Ms. Laras: “And then, what happen if the organism is difficult to move? Will it affects in its
life?”
Hastuti: “Ma’am I want to answer”
Ms. Laras: “Oh, yes please, Hastuti”
Hastuti: “The organism which difficult to moves will also difficult to get their food.”
Ms. Laras: “Very good, are you agree with Hastuti? Or maybe there are some addition?”
Novia: “Me, Ma’am. I agree with Hastuti. The organism which difficult to move will also
difficult to avoid themselves from predator, Ma’am. It will be dead easily or maybe will extinct”
Ms. Laras: “Are you agree with her, class?”
Rosyi: “Yes, Ma’am. I agree. Organisms which is difficult to move will also difficult to breath,
Ma’am”
Ms. Laras: “All your answers are very good. The plastic that throw away in see will traps the
organism in the marine ecosystem. It will cause difficult movement for the organism. It is very
dangerous because, first, The organism will difficult to avoid predators because parts of their
body are caught by plastic. Second, the organism will difficult to get food because of its
movement is inhibited by plastic. And third, Plastic meshes will make oxygen dificiency and
blood flux will be disrupted. This can cause death in these organisms. Are you understand,
Class?”
All students: “Yes, Ma’am”
Ms. Laras: “I have another question for you. You know that litters can be dangerous in
organism’s life and ecosystem. The tortoise in that video has been shown felt the impact of
environmental pollution. The question is…Do you, as human also feel the impact of
environmental pollution?”
Angkin: “Yes, I also feel it, Ma’am. Honestly, I don’t like the smoke of motorcycle. It disrupted
my nose and my lungs”
Ms. Laras: “Ok, good, anyone else?”
Elva: “Me, Ma’am. The drain in front of my house is stopped because many litters in it. So, the
flow of water in the drain is distrupted and causes flooding.
Ms laras: “Wow, Elva. That is so sad. So, class, what action would you take if you see the
environmental pollution?”
Irkham: “Ma’am, does each type of pollution have the same precautions?”
Ms. Laras: “OK very good question. name’s question will be the topic of our learning today. I
will give you some explanation about the type of pollution, the impact of it, and how to solve
environmental pollution, so you can know more about the concept. Are you ready Class?”
All students: “Yes, we’re ready Ma’am”

EXPLAINING SKILLS (9 mnt)

Ms. Laras : (explain ppt on slide 8-13). Do you get my point class?
S : Yes Ma’am
Ms. Laras : Maybe any question?
S : No Ma’am.
Ms. Laras : Ok next (read ppt slide 14-end). Is there still something unclear?
S : No Ma’am, it is clear enough.
Ms. Laras : Ok good. Now you know about the concepts of environmental pollutions. Now,
lets do experiment to identify water quality
GUIDING DISCUSSION (9 mnt)
Ms. Laras : “Well class, now before we start the experiment today you can take the tools
and water sample in front of the class. And don’t forget to wear your lab coat”
S : “Yes Ma’am”
Ms.Laras : “Ok, for your experiment, you will practice about determine the water quality
by doing experiment using DO meters. For more details, please open your
worksheet and follow each step there!”
S : “Yes Ma’am”
Ms. Laras : “I will explain to you how to use DO meter (…teacher doin the explanation).
Do you understand?
S : Yes, Ma’am
Ms. Laras : “Ok good. While doing the experiment, please do your task with your groups.
You can divide every member of the group based on the job”. (Checking student
by visiting the group during the practicum).
SA : (doing activities)
Ms Laras : “Has this grup divided the tasks into groups?”
SA : “Yes, we have Ma’am.”
Ms. LAras : “Good teamwork
A few moments later…wkwk
Ms. Laras : “Have every group finished the experiment?”
S2 : “Finish, Ma’am”
Ms. Laras : “From this experiment, have you got the data?”
S : “Yes, we have Ma’am”
Ms. Laras : “Oke good. To demonstrate the conclusion of our experiment today, you must
write your data in the white board. So from the A group, can you write your data
for detergent water on the whiteboard please!”
S3 A : (write the data on the whiteboard)
Ms. Laras : “Good, thank you. Then the B group please!. Write your data for drain water”
SB : (write the data on the whiteboard)
Ms. Laras : “Thank you. Then the last group please! Write your data for well water”
SC : (write the data on the whiteboard)
Ms. Laras : “Ok thank you. Well class, if you analyze to the data that you have got, may
anyone give a conclusion?”
S : “May I try to answer it Ma’am?”
Ms. Laras : “Sure, please!”
S : “Based on our experiment, it can be concluded that well water has biggest DO
value than other water sample and detergent water has smallest DO ”
Ms. Laras : “Good. So, what is the relationship between DO and water quality? try to
connect with the impact of organisms living in the water.”
S : good water quality is when DO score in DO meter higher than DO in table 1.1.
It is because the main source of oxygen in the waters derived from a process of
diffusion of free air and the results of photosynthetic organisms that live in these
waters.
Ms. Laras : “Excellent both of your argument are accepted.
There is a relationship between DO and water quality. Ok now, you can discuss
with your groups in 10 minutes to answer the question in your worksheet.”
S : “Yes Ma’am.”
-After 10 minutes-
Ms. Laras : “Okay Class, have you finished the discussion? Can we discuss it together,
Class?”
Students : “Yes, we have Ma’am.”
Ms. Laras : “Okay, number 1 and number 2, which group wants to answer?
S (A) : (raising hand) “We want to try to answer no. 1 and no.2, Ma’am.”
Ms. Laras : “Okay, group A, please stand up and present your group answer.”
SA : (Read the answer number 1 and 2)
Ms. Laras : “How about the other groups? Are you with them?”
S : “Yes, we are, Sir.”
Ms. Laras : “OK, great, and the next group for question number 3?”
SB : (Read the answer number 3 )
Ms. Laras : “Yes, do you get the point Class? Or you have other answers?”
S : “Alright. We get the point, we are with them, Ma’am”
Ms. laras : “And the next group, please answer number 4!”
SC : (Read the answer of number 4)
Ms. LAras : “Ok nice, the answer is correct, you have finished working on the discussion. Is
there anything to ask?”
S : No, maam, it’s clear
Ms. Laras : “Now, I will announce the best group in today's discussion. the best groups
will get stars and added value in today's discussion. the best group was seen based on the amount
of activity during the discussion. and the best group falls to ... group A please group A go to in
front of the class and convey his impression”
SA : blahblahblah

CLOSING SKILLS (9 mnt)

Ms. Laras : “So class, according to our experiment and discussion, what can you conclude
about environmental pollution?”
S : “. Polluted environment (polluted) is the environment or ecosystem whose
condition becomes impure again”
Ms Laras : “You are right. Futhermore, environmental pollution can be divided into 4
groups there are water pollution, soil pollution, air pollution, and sound
pollution. There is relationship between causes and the impact of environmental
pollution. Based on our experiment, DO levels affect how contaminated water is
and we can count with DO meters. Is there something unclear?
Student : No, Maam
Ms. laras : “Ok, I think that’s all of our lessons today. Now, I want a student to lead us
praying.”
S : “Before ending the Class, let’s pray together. Hopefully, we can get any benefit
from our lesson today. Aameen.”
Ms. laras : “Ok Class, see you next week, and have a nice day. Wassalamu’alaikum Wr.
Wb.
S : “ Wa’alaikumsalam Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh”
