GENERAL STATEMENT
CIGARETTES
Smoking can interfere with the reproductive system. In men, smoking can cause
impotence, reduce sperm production, and testicular cancer. While for women, smoking can
cause a higher risk of cervical cancer and pregnancy and fetal disorders.

When smoking it will be more likely to have a heart attack. Smokers are two to four
times more likely to suffer from heart disease. When smoking, harmful substances enter the
body, especially the heart. For example nicotine, when nicotine enters the body it can cause a
decrease in oxygen levels that will enter the blood.

Nicotine addiction is generally caused by smoking or consuming other tobacco

products, such as gum or tape with tobacco flavor. Individuals who don't smoke too often can
also be exposed to nicotine addiction, because nicotine is highly addictive.

Every time someone smokes, nicotine is absorbed by the blood and into the brain.
After being in the brain, nicotine will increase the release of dopamine, a chemical that
functions to help improve mood an.

Curiosity or try, after we start to get older, curiosity becomes very large, but this
curiosity can deviate so that the person wants to know the taste of smoking.d cause
satisfaction.

Forced by friends, usually someone who has not smoked is always forced by his
friend. if he does not smoke, many people will stay away from him. Because he was afraid of
losing friends, he finally joined in smoking. Therefore, be careful choosing friends because
friends are also factors that can grow our personality.

Not confident, someone who is not confident will experience despair so that his
feelings want to eliminate the feeling of insecurity, finally he smoked to eliminate the
mistrust. Even though smoking will not solve the problem, it will give a lot of problems.

II.THESIS STATEMENT
* Nicotine in cigarettes is harmful to addicts

1. What is a nicotine Substance : Nicotine is an alkaloid group of organic chemical

compounds produced naturally in various kinds of plants, especially the eggplant
(Solanaceae) such as tobacco and tomatoes. In general nicotine consists of carbon,
hydrogen, nitrogen and sometimes oxygen.
2. Why nicotine can be addictive : When a person inhales cigarette smoke, nicotine is
distilled from tobacco and carried by smoke particles into the lungs which will then be
absorbed quickly into the pulmonary pulmonary vein.
3. Nicotine content : Abroad is a maximum of 1.5, 1.25; 1 mg level. In Indonesia nicotine
levels are the highest 4 mg for hand clove cigarettes," meanwhile, Moriana said
nicotine levels most commonly found in the Indonesian market were 25, 5 mg for
machine-made kretek cigarettes.

III.BODY

1. Nicotine is a potent parasympathomimetic alkaloid found in nightshade families of

plants (Solanaceae) and stimulants. This is a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR)
agonist, except in nAChRα9 and nAChRα10 where it acts as an antagonist. Nicotine
is made in the roots and accumulates in the leaves of the nightshade plant family.
Nicotine is about 0.6-3.0% of the dry weight of tobacco and is present in the range of
2-7 mg / kg of various food crops. Nicotine functions as an anti-herbivorous chemical;
As a result, nicotine was widely used as an insecticide in the past and nicotine
analogues such as imidacloprid are now widely used. In lower doses (the average
cigarette that produces about 2 mg of nicotine can be absorbed), acts as a substance
stimulant in mammals, while high amounts (50-100 mg) can be dangerous. This
stimulant effect is likely to be a major factor in the nature of dependence tobacco
smoker. Nicotine content in popular American brand cigarettes has been slowly
increasing over the years, and one study found that an average increase of 1.78% per
year between 1998 and 2005. Liquid nicotine can be used in vaporizers or electronic
cigarettes along with a variety of different flavors.
2. When a person inhales cigarette smoke, nicotine is distilled from tobacco and carried
by smoke particles into the lungs which will then be absorbed quickly into the
pulmonary pulmonary veins. Furthermore, nicotine particles enter the arterial
circulation and move towards the brain. Nicotine will easily flow to the brain tissue,
where these particles will bind to the nAChRs receptors, ionotropic receptors (ligand-
gated ion channels) that open to allow cations such as sodium and calcium to pass
through the membrane in response to more binding chemical messengers, such as
neurotransmitters .One of these neurotransmitters is dopamine, which can improve
your mood and activate feelings of pleasure. The effect of nicotine in tobacco is what
is the main reason for making tobacco and cigarettes very addictive.
3. Tar "is a new term, a term used to describe toxic chemicals found in cigarettes.
Cigarette filters were first added to cigarettes in 1950 when it was known that tar in
cigarettes has the potential to increase the risk of lung cancer. The idea is that filters
will trap tar, but the results are not as good as expected. The toxins are still formed and
enter the lungs of smokers. In a solid form, tar is brown, sticky and easy to stick in.
The cause of a smoker's teeth becomes brown. from the lungs.

IV.CONCLUSION
Cigarettes can be divided into several types. This distinction is based on the packaging
material for cigarettes, raw materials or contents of cigarettes, the process of making
cigarettes, and the use of filters on cigarettes
In one cigarette contains about 7,000 chemicals, 200 types of which are carcinogenic,
namely substances that damage genes in the body that trigger cancer, such as lung cancer,
emphysema, and chronic bronchitis
