And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for

us?“Then I said, “Here I am! Send me”, -Isaiah 6:8. Jesus revealed himself through the

ministry of teaching where the foundation is to understand true Christianity and its goal to

immitate His perfect life. His mission, He says, is to preach the good news to the spiritually

poor people of this world, whom Satan has imprisoned and deceived, and to begin the

process of freeing them from the oppression of sin. The Gospel of Matthew emphasize

the teaching activities of Jesus where He taught in the temple courts, in the Synagogues,

by the Lakeside, and wherever people gathered around Him. Furthermore, it focuses on

the high order of the teachings and its effect upon those who heard Him.

The life of an ordinary teacher can be just like Jesus who devote himself in

preaching throughout all Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every

disease and every affliction among the people. A teacher should offer and lift up the spirit

of generosity and grace that acknowledges the gospel values, promote and live them out

in day to day school life. Teachers are models of the Gospel in which provide a moral

foundation and basis of positive culture. So if the young people are to strive to live like

Jesus, so too must we strive to articulate and practice these core values.

We often heard that teaching is a vocation and a great profeesion. Perhaps, a

calling where people respond with full responsibility. According to Thomas Merton, “A

man Knows he has found his vocation when he stops thinking about how to live, and
begins to live. God is calling us to learn from Him today by means of educating the young

through preaching his gospels. Hence, educators plays an important role in the ministry

of Jesus.

John Witvliet states that, “The Bible tells us to imagine God as our teacher. And

the Bible itself is God’s master textbook. A book filled with more insights than we will ever

fully comprehend”. Therefore, young people needs a good teacher to introduce the

message where they can uplift and live their lives as Jesus did to His followers. He also

added “when we think of something we love to do, we remember a teacher whose

lessons inspired us.” Whatever kind of work they are in, the best teachers do a lot more

than to give out information because they model a whole way of doing things.

Jesus gifted the believers with abilities to minister other people and the Church to

guide and protect the believers. Roman 12:7 once states that, “A teacher is a spiritual gift

to the Church”. "Jesus [said] ... 'The kingdom of God is within you.' This kingdom is now

ready. 'The fields ... are white already unto harvest.' The conditions are ripe. But only

those come in who are willing to exchange for it their ideas of earthly possessions". As

Jesus proclaim the message to those around Him, we teachers are entitled to do our

responsibility to those young people around us. Therefore, it is most rewarding for the

teachers when they really make a difference in a child’s life. The best teacher is not those

who can finish the lesson in an hour but those who make students realize the value of

life. This lesson, therefore, will be devoted to what is often termed “the teaching ministry

of Jesus.”
