Research Questions:

1. Why is it that critical thinking skills important?


2. What makes critical thinking skills an essential skills for accounting students?
3. Why do accounting students needs to enhance critical thinking skills?
4. What are the benefits if a person enhances his/her critical thinking skills?
5. What are the advantages if a person enhances his/her critical thinking skills?
6. How can we apply critical thinking skills in solving daily problem or matter?
Chapter 3

Methodology

This part of the research determines the research design, research environment,
research respondents, research instrument, research procedure and data analysis. This
section provides an accurate information about the study. This chapter shows what
techniques is used by the researcher in making the study valid and how would the study
was conducted.

Research Design

The research design used in this study is action research under the qualitative method.
Action research because the researcher is interested in finding out whether something
will work or in solving a problem in a local setting. Kach and Kralik (2006) conceded that
using participatory action research, qualitative features, views, and patterns are revealed
without control and manipulation from the researcher thus, the participants is active in
making informed decisions throughout all aspects of the research process for the primary
purpose of imparting social change. And, action research also examines interviews as
method for data collection.

Research Environment

The study will be conducted at the vicinity of Cagayan de Oro College PHINMA
Education Network located in Max Suniel Street, Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City.
Particularly, the study will be conducted in the Grade 12 Accountancy, Business and
Management Strand Senior High School students in Main North Building.

Research Respondents

The respondents of this study will be the 40% total population out of (50) fifty students
within (1) one section in morning session enrolled in Grade 12 Accountancy, Business
and Management Strand Senior High School students.

Research Instrument
The instrument that the researcher used in this study was an interview method. It was
composed of (6) six questions and it was constructed carefully base on the research
question so it would be answered to the validity of the study. The researcher made
interview questions and it was checked and validated by the Practical Research 1
teacher.

Research Procedure

The researcher will make a letter of consent to conduct a study. The letter will first, be
approved by the subject teacher. After it was approved, the letter will be then, submitted
to the Senior High School Principal of PHINMA – Cagayan de Pro City. Afterwards, the
letter will be signed to the SSP adviser of the respondents for notification. Then, the letter
will be given to the participants to ensure voluntary participation. Next, the researcher will
interview ABM respondents with (6) six following questions. Afterwards, the researcher
will start collecting the responses of the respondents and shall treat it with utmost
confidentiality. Lastly, it will be interpreted and analyze.
