Bolletta API Documents


Downloading the Bolletta API

For prospective Heartland merchants interested in using an integrated Bolletta payment solution, the HPS
Development Team has created a playbook for interfacing with those systems. The following steps outline the
process required for a merchant to register on the Heartland Developer’s Portal and then download the Bolletta
API documents.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR DOWNLOADING BOLLETTA API DOCUMENTS


Step 1: Use the link below to direct your web browser to the Heartland Developer’s Portal:
https://developer.heartlandpaymentsystems.com/.

Step 2: Click Register in the upper right-hand corner of the page.

Step 3: Complete the registration form, making sure to enter data in all required fields.

Step 4: When the form is complete and submitted, a successful response will be displayed, and you will receive
an email to the address provided on the form.

Step 5: Once the email is received, click the Account Activation Link to activate your Developer account. Clicking
this link will also sign you in to your new account.

Step 6: On the Developer’s Portal web site, you should see a message that your account was activated
successfully. To locate the Bolletta API, click the All Heartland APIs section.

Step 7: On the Heartland APIs page, scroll to the bottom and locate the Bolletta Gateway API. To download the
file, click the download arrow on the right-hand side of the page.

The Bolletta API will download as a ZIP file. It’s recommended that the file be downloaded locally and not to a
shared drive.

Step 8: Using WinZip or a similar tool, unzip the file to the desired directory. The zip file will contain a Bolletta
API file with a name similar to BollettaAPI_VX.X.chm (the version number will change each update).

If this is the first time the file has been downloaded, then the user will need to enable it for use on that
computer. You will notice that all the pages in the help file will be blank if it is not enabled.

Step 9: Locate the Bolletta CHM file, right-click the file and select Properties. In the Properties Box, click Unblock
to enable it for use on your computer. Then click OK.

Step 10: Double-click the CHM Bolletta API file to open and review.
