EXPLOSIÓN DE TANQUE DE COMBUSTIBLE

En el video se observa un soldador usar oxicorte para cortar un tanque de combustible

supuestamente vacío sin embargo los residuos de combustible que había en el tanque
provocan una explosión que mata al soldador y daña a otras personas que observaban
de cerca el trabajo.
PELIGRO: Gases remanentes del tanque
RIESGO: Daño o muerte por explosión
Para soldar un recipiente cerrado se debe hacer limpieza, después desgasificar el
tanque y hacer circular aire usando ventiladores y extractores. Incluso cuando se trabaja
se debe seguir circulando el aire para evitar la concentración de gases inflamables. para
el lavado y limpieza del tanque se deben usar soluciones sin fósforo.

En el video se observa a un bombero explicar el accidente que ocurrió cuando un

soldador tropezó y cayó desde gran altura luego de soltarse del arnés de seguridad para
poder moverse libremente.

RIESGO: Lesiones por caída o muerte
Cuando se suelde en altura se deben usar los implementos de seguridad necesarios
para evitar caídas. Se revisarán que todos estos elementos estén en buenas
condiciones y debidamente instalados. Nunca, bajo ninguna circunstancia, se deberán
soltar los arneses cuando el soldador se encuentra aún en altura.

The video shows a welder using oxy-fuel cutting(OFC) to cut a supposedly empty fuel
tank, however the fuel residues in the tank cause an explosion that kills the welder and
damages other people who closely watched the work.

RISK: Damage or death by explosion
To weld a closed container, cleaning must be done, after degassing the tank and
circulating air using ventilatirs and extractors. Even when working, the air must continue
to circulate to avoid the concentration of flammable gases. Non-phosphorus solutions
should be used for washing and cleaning the tank.

The video shows a fireman explaining the accident that occurred when a welder tripped
and fell from a great height after releasing the safety harness to move freely.

RISK: Fall or death injuries
When welding at height, the necessary safety equipment should be used to prevent falls.
Check that all these elements are in good condition and properly installed. Never, under
any circumstances, do you need to release the harnesses when the welder is still in
height.
