There is a very common and true saying that Health is Wealth. We should always
keep in mind that health is the greatest wealth in this world. This nutrition month,
is not really about the month that we eat healthy and forget everything after the
celebration. Nutrition month serves as a checklist on how we did well from the
past year and how we could do better this year. It serves as a reminder that
wealth in health is earned over time.
Healthy eating is not only important to our diet, it's also important as a part of our
personal well-being. Eating healthy can drastically improve our physical fitness,
allow us to feel better about ourselves, and do wonders for our health. Healthy
eating doesn't mean you have to follow a strict diet, or give up foods you love.
You just need to balance the amount of types of foods you eat to obtain all the
necessary nutrients. It's a good idea to limit the fattening foods such as fast food,
pizzas, etc... But you don't necessarily have to completely avoid them. Starting
healthy eating habits at a young age will possibly help people as they get older.
In earlier days, life was not so hectic. It was quite simple and free of too many
challenges with healthy environment in comparison to these days. People were
healthy as they had to perform all the daily routine activities by their own hand
and body. But now, life in the technological world has become easy and
comfortable but hectic because of the competitions. Now-a-days, easy life is not
possible as everyone wants to earn more money to get better life than others.
Now-a-days, living life has become costly and tough as well as unhealthy as
everything like air, water, environment, food, etc. Now-a-days, barely you can see
students play traditional games like sipa, luksong baka, tsato, piko, patintero etc.
Instead, you only see them now in the corner playing online games. And this is
clearly a manifestation of physical inactivity and is considered one of the most
serious health problems in the world today. Not only does it contribute heavily to
the development of many other risk factors (e.g., obesity and high blood
pressure), but it can itself be attributed to a large proportion of
noncommunicable deaths.
Learning about the importance of proper nutrition at a young age will help to
establish lifelong healthy eating habits and will improve our health. But nutrition
alone will not guarantee good health. Combining a balanced diet with physical
activity will help us live a long and healthy life. Nutrition month comes early in our
academic calendar since we believe that if we start the new school year off right
by teaching the importance of proper nutrition and physical activity for a
healthier future. All of these things add up to eating healthier.
Let me end my message with a reminder, if you truly want to enjoy life,
remember that enjoyment comes from activity of the mind and exercise of the
body; the two are forever united. Good day and eat healthy and exercise daily.
