Video “Expressing a point of view”

A. What to do?

Record a video expressing to what extend you agree or disagree with Dan Pink’s
view on motivation using the present perfect, phrasal verbs, and other functions
practiced in this learning activity.

B. How to do it?

1. Click on the video The surprising truth about what motivates us

necessary and take notes. If there is any word you don’t understand, go to
www.wordreference.com and look it up.

2. Read your notes, decide if you agree or disagree with his position, and record a
video expressing your opinion.

Sample

I don’t agree with his opinion. I have had many different jobs in my life and
the most important factor has always been money. For money, people get up
earlier, work out harder, and are able to do the impossible. You need money
if you want to take care of your family. When I am looking for a job, I always
think about the salary first. I have had many different jobs where the pay has
been good and the work has been repetitive and monotonous. This is not a
problem for me. I am good at learning anything. I just need the right
incentive. In my case, this incentive is money.
 My script

In my point of view, the video is very good, it is true that we live in a capitalist
world and that currently money moves everyone ... however I think we are not
happy in this economic model. people get work out of necessity believing that a
monthly salary will improve living conditions ... but ... we are not happy ... we
accept any job without thinking if we wanted to do it when we were children, if it is
something that we motivates, if we feel that it is our purpose of life or if we do a
common good, only interested in the economic remuneration we receive to pay
bills, a rent and other daily expenses.
I think it is true that you will be successful doing what you love to do!, it is the
biggest and most important motivation, that better world would be if we all do
things with love, patience, dedication and complete disposition to the group work
and the common good.

It is a capitalist world and we need money is completely true, but if a person does
what he loves and he is successful, why we can´t do it all????

Money is not important at that level of motivation.
