Modeler® sound system software v6.11.6

Release Notes
25 April 2019
Revision: 1.1

General
This release of Modeler sound system software addresses a number of issues:

General:
• Support for ArenaMatch DeltaQ loudspeakers.
• Support for ArenaMatch Utility loudspeakers.
• Updated to STI 2019

Issues Resolved:
• Errors in Working Load Limit calculations for certain ShowMatch configurations/aimings have
been fixed.
• Modeler no longer stops responding during phase 29 of the Auditioner filter calculation while
making changes to a model.

Launching Modeler 6.11

When launching Modeler 6.11, a dialog box appears in which you can choose between ArenaMatch or
ShowMatch application modes.

Note: You must close and reopen Modeler 6.11 if you wish to switch from one mode to the other.

Opening Existing Projects

If you selected the ArenaMatch application mode and attempt to open a project that contains
ShowMatch modules, the dialog box below appears.

Likewise, if you selected the ShowMatch application mode and attempt to open a project that contains
ArenaMatch modules, the dialog box below appears.

Placing an Array
Use the Place ArenaMatch/ShowMatch Array button to place a new array. The toolbar button is the
same for placing an array within a model, but the functionality differs depending upon which application
mode you are working in.

Note: ArenaMatch designs can only be viewed and configured in Modeler version 6.11

ArenaMatch Configuration
Configuring ArenaMatch arrays is much the same as configuring ShowMatch arrays, but with the
following differences:
• There is no bass support. The only available configuration is No Bass (No Subwoofers, Array
Only), and the Sub property is unavailable.
• Only the following rigging configurations are supported:
o Short Array Plates + Pullback –standard arrays
o Long Array Plates – smaller arrays utilizing only two-point (at the top of array) hangs
o Reverse Pullback – “smile” shaped arrays
• Non-progressive arrays are allowed, but skipping vertical angles is not recommended (for
example, connecting a 10° module to a 40° module).

Note: Refer to product data sheets and manuals for specific performance info. The maximum number of
modules that can be combined in an ArenaMatch array is dependent on the specific modules and
accessories used.

General Limitations
The following table specifies the limits for the number of modules and their angles per rigging type.
These limits are described as follows:
• Base Limits: Used when the software is not capable of any checking or load calculations.
Rigging that meets base limits is always safe for lifting and is safe once installed.
• Modeler Base Limits: Good general limits for the system. Rigging that meets Modeler base limits
is safe for lifting in most cases and is safe once installed. Loading calculations should always be
checked.
• Maximum Limits: Rigging that meets maximum limits can be safe for lifting and is almost always
safe when installed. Loading calculations must be checked.

Rigging Base Limits Modeler Base Limits Maximum Limits

Short Array • 8 modules • 10 modules • 12 modules
Plates + Pullback • 120° total vertical • 120° total vertical • 180° total vertical
angle angle angle
Long Array • 4 modules • 6 modules • 8 modules
Plates • 100° total vertical • 100° total vertical • 120° total vertical
angle angle angle
Reverse • 6 modules • 8 modules • 10 modules
Pullback • 120° total vertical • 120° total vertical • 180° total vertical
angle angle angle

Notes:
• The working load limit (WLL) for all modules and accessories should never be exceeded. Arrays
of greater size or unique configurations may be possible by using custom rigging hardware.
• Modules that are exposed to weather (direct exposure or partially covered) must be mounted at
a downward angle to allow them to drain. It is recommended that modules placed indoors are
also mounted at a downward angle to avoid collecting any moisture.
• The spreader bar is not included in Modeler configurations. This accessory spans between any
pair of rigging points on the array plates or pullback plates and provides a nearly centered pick
point as well as two extra pick points near either end for added rigging flexibility.

Important: Arrays larger than 8 modules should be lifted from array and pull bar connection points
simultaneously.

Placing ArenaMatch Loudspeakers

When placing single ArenaMatch modules, for example as fill or delay speakers, there are separate
speaker data files or AM20 and AM40 modules with dedicated Speaker EQ. You can select these files
by opening the Place Loudspeaker tool and selecting a speaker data file from the Single folder. These
speaker data files are available in Biamped, Passive, and CV (constant voltage) variants.
