Tuesday 03/07/2018

Departing from the mess of employees of PT. Sowohi Kentiti Jaya at 04.30 WIB to Alfa Marunda
Jetty port using online transportation. Arriving at the Alfa Marunda Jetty port at 5:30 a.m., I went to the
branch office of PT. Sowohi Kentiti Jaya to take care of documents on board. at 9:00 a.m., we were
escorted by one of the company employees to meet the Captain and KKM who were ready to go to the
SV ship. Minerva 88.

We left with office people to ship using fishing boats, because the ship's position was in the middle of
the sea. at 09.00 WIB. we arrived on the ship and boarded the ship using the ladder beside the ship. This
ship has two main engines, the V 4 engine type, with 6 pistons per engine, so the amount piston has 12
pieces.

After we boarded we immediately headed to the captain's room to give a cover letter given by the
company PT. Sowohi Kentiti Jaya to ensure the crew cadet is actually received at the company and placed
on the SV vessel. Minerva 88.

Then we were directed to our room which was on the 2nd floor deck where there was 1 room for
the Cadet engine room. After that we started by cleaning the room and arranging our belongings into
the room. After completing the activities in the room, we took the initiative to introduce ourselves to the
entire crew. The first ship crew or person we met was Captain, KKM, Engineer 1, Engineer 2, Olimen and
other crew members.

We introduce ourselves one by one. The atmosphere at that time was a bit awkward because at
that time it was the first time we were acquainted with the crew on board. I started introducing myself
by starting my name, the origin of my education and where I lived. They also responded jokingly to us.
The atmosphere at the time reminded me of when I was a junior at the Academy. But I was grateful
because the first time we met with the crew they had opened up to us so we could break the mood and
start talking even though it wasn't long.

After that we were introduced to several places on the ship. Then I went to the control room and
engine room. and I was shown some of the machines by Olimen.

It didn't feel like the day before the night we then took a shower and prepared ourselves for our
first Generator Emergency duty duty even though it was not fully entrusted because this was the first
time we carried out guard duty, so that during our guard duty it was still accompanied by the weather in
carrying out guard duty to anticipate procedural errors in operating and maintaining Emergency
Generators.
When maintaining an Emergency Generator we are taught and introduced to Emergency
Generator parts and how to turn on and turn off Emergency Generators. Even though it was quite
difficult when we were first taught but little by little we began to study and memorize the steps.
