Article 1
Definition: “Racial discrimination” means any distinction, exclusion, restriction or
preference based on race, colour, descent, or national or ethnic origin.

Article 2
Governments shall condemn racial discrimination and seek to avoid it in policy or
practice by governments, organisations and individuals.

Article 3
Governments shall condemn segregation and apartheid

Article 4
Governments shall condemn racist propaganda.

Article 5
Racist policies or practices shall be eliminated and governments will ensure equality
before the law.

Article 6
People shall be protected from racial discrimination and have access to remedies.

Article 7
Governments will promote tolerance through education.
