opportunities and threats. The primary objective of a SWOT analysis is to help an
organization develop a full awareness of all the factors involved in making a business
decision. Based on primary and secondary data that has been searched, below are result of
the analysis of Shabab Global Sdn. Bhd.

5.2.1 Value propositions


Shabab Global Sdn. Bhd or known as SALAM Car Rental expertise in
providing various, low-cost at very high-quality car rental services to the
customer. Other than provides rental service to an individual, the company also
provides the car rental services to other corporates and also supply cars for e-
hailing services. Besides that, this company allows rental period from daily to
weekly and monthly, up to customers preferences on how long they want to rent
the cars.

5.2.2 Customer segment


There are two type of customers that has been using SALAM Car Rental
service which is individual and e-hailer. Major individual who used car rental
service is among university students. Since purchasing power of a student is
limited, they seek low-cost car rental services and accessible. Therefore,
SALAM Car Rental has been one of their top choices. Besides, there are some
e-hailer rent cars for e-hailing businesses. Nowadays, e-hailing has been on
demand. To be an e-hailer there are some requirement that need to be fulfilled.
One of the requirements is to use not more than 7 years vehicles. Therefore,
some of the e-hailer rent car from car rental services for e-hailing business.
Other than that, some companies or corporates rent cars for business purposes.
Last but not least, foreigners and travellers also rent cars for traveling purposes.
In other words, Shabab Global Sdn. Bhd. does not have only one target customer
which is the students.
5.2.3 Customer relationship
One of the initiatives that has been done by the company to maintain the
relationship between customers is by actively gives promotions monthly or
weekly. The aim of promotions is to stimulate demand for a company’s goods
or services. Promotional strategy is designed to inform and persuade target
audience about the services. Media socials has been utilized fully to do all the
promotions as main medium to connect with customers.

Other than that, the company provide loyalty card to regular customers.
Increasing customer retention helps boost profits simply because loyal customer
already has trust in your brand and therefore are likely to spend more. Other
than that, it makes customers feels appreciated and valued for keeping on using
the company’s services.

5.2.4 Channel
Social media is the main channel for Shabab Global Sdn. Bhd. to keep
connect with their customer. Social media is the collective of online
communications channels dedicated to community-based input, interaction,
content-sharing and collaboration. The use of social media has been explosively
increasing since 2010. Following the trend, the company use the advantage of
social media to advertise information to customer.
5.2.5 Key activities*
This is the most important actions company must perform to operate
successfully. It is required to sustain customer relationship as well as to earn
revenues. Salam car rental operating at field area located at Floor 1 Parking Lot,
Giant Seksyen 7, Shah Alam from 8.00 am until 11 pm for 7 days a week.
Meanwhile at the office, the operating hours is from 8.00 am until 5.00 pm for
Monday until Friday at Jalan Plumbum N7/N, Seksyen 7, Shah Alam.

In the office, the workers and interns handling documentation of costing,


marketing, record of customers and etc. Activities such as addressing promotion
in social media are the key to attract regular customers. Channels in social media
such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and WhatsApp status. Social sharing and
back-links help increase ranks. Not only to attract daily customers but also to
commercialised Salam Car Rental name due to competition between car rental
industry.

However, at field area, senior officer and field officer (part time)
responsible handling and interacting with customers. To start the operation of
renting the car, the customers required to bring their photocopy of identification
card and matric card (if students). When returning the car, customers are
required to show their receipt of deposit to the filed officer in charge in order to
get the money back. Two way communication is important so that customers
can share their thoughts to improve relationships right across the structure.
