    Integrated Writing Tasks


    Preparation
    D I read the passage actively: I understood the topic, the main idea and the main point(s).
    D I listened to the talk actively: I understood the main point(s) and how they relate to the passage.
    D I read the question carefully to understand how to answer the question.
    D I used the preparation time efficiently to outline a summary of the talk and to answer the question.
    Writing
    D I started with a topic sentence that states the main idea of the professor and that answers the question.
    D I was able to paraphrase the main points made by the professor and to relate them to the reading passage.
    D I used transitions to move from one idea to another.
    D I was able to conclude without running out of time.
    D I had enough time to re-read my response and to correct spelling, grammatical and structural errors.

    Independent Writing Tasks


    Preparation
    D I read the question carefully and determined the meaning of any unfamiliar words in the question.
    D I used the preparation time efficiently to decide my point of view and to outline my response.
    Writing
    D I started with a topic sentence that summarized the question and introduced my topic.
    D I was able to give strong supporting points, and was able to discuss and refute any opposing points.
    D I used transitions to move from one idea to another.
    D I was able to conclude without running out of time.
    D I had enough time to re-read my response and to correct spelling, grammatical and structural errors.

    Integrated Speaking Tasks


    Preparation
    D I read the question carefully and understand how to accurately answer the question.

    D I read the passage and/or listened to the conversation actively, and have a good understanding of it/them.
    Speaking
    D I started with a concise topic sentence that appropriately addresses the question.

    D I was able to conclude without running out of time.
    D I spoke dearly and did not hesitate too much.
    D I self-corrected when I realized I made an error.

    Independent Speaking Tasks
