Client Overview
A Leading global energy
The client is a leading global independent energy company, engaged in the company
exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas, as well as in the distribution
of gasoline through downstream channels.

Business Challenge
The client required an intelligent decision support system that would provide insights
into the complete lifecycle of exploration activities; as well as map the overall
portfolio of opportunities with a focus on executive level dashboards and decision
level reporting. The client team was seeking to build not only a roadmap for the
months and years ahead, but also to prove and display the technology available for
such a solution.

Solution
The client, like most global organizations is dependent on intelligent insightful
information to make effective business decisions. The proposed strategy and
architecture suggested by Collabera was based on industry best practices, prior
experience and technical excellence in the field.

Collabera engaged with the client’s Exploration and IT team in a three week effort to
understand the key data elements used to measure success, prioritize opportunities
for exploration and determine the level of investment needed in the long term. This
phase was followed by defining the scope of the dashboard, gaining consensus
across various business groups on goals, vision, and business drivers,
understanding the current analyses performed and Identifying internal and external
data sources required to support the desired functionality.

Collabera used its Momentum Matrix methodology as a structure to gather data


points, demonstrate the integrated view and prioritize which data should be
systemized first.

A proof of concept was then developed to provide a high-level prioritized action


plan for the client’s executive dashboard program for the participating business
units.
