4.

CALCULATION OF MERIT

4.1. The merit will be calculated on the basis of percentage (%age) of marks; however,
if the percentage is not available, then CGPA will be converted to percentage of marks as
per following formula.

4.6. Some programs may have additional admission criteria mentioned in the relevant

3.7. The merit shall be determined on the basis of the following criteria:

3.7.1. Academic Qualifications 40 marks1

3.7.2. UE Entry Test to be conducted 50 marks

by the relevant division/campus


3.7.3. Interview 10 marks

3.8. To become eligible for admission in MS/MPhil programs, the applicants are
required to secure:

3.8.1. Minimum score in UE Entry Test as per HEC requirements.

3.8.2. Minimum 50% marks in the interview

PhD PROGRAMS

2.8. The PhD Admission Committee after duly assessing all the applicants on the basis
of following criteria shall submit its recommendations through concerned
Director/Principal to the Vice Chancellor for provisional admission.

2.8.1. Academic qualifications 60 marks1

2.8.2. Publications in HEC approved Journals 10 marks


(2 marks per publication)
2.8.3. Professional experience in relevant field 10 marks
(2 marks for each year of job)

2.8.4. Interview 20 marks

2.9. The applicants shall be required to secure overall 60% marks in the criteria
mentioned under clause 2.8 above, to be become eligible for admission.

2.10. The marks obtained under clause # 2.8 are only indicative evaluation while the
recommendations of the PhD Admission Committee for grant or refusal of admission
shall be considered as final.
