Seva Sangamam - 2019
A unique confluence of its kind in Telangana for bringing NGOs, Women,
Teachers, Doctors, CAs, Academicians, IT employees and common people onto
one platform. The 2 day event was graced by more than 228 NGOs empowering
society in the areas of health, education, palliative/hospice and social
transformation. Also decorated by 900+ women and 1100+ teachers for a day and
understood the impact of their role in transforming the society.

For over three decades, Seva Bharathi believes in transforming the society
together, so we have concluded the event with an abundance of knowledge and
tasks to be performed. In a nutshell Seva Sangamam - 2019 was a perfectly
crafted event in it’s own style promoting greater debate and innovative
approaches as the building blocks to an inclusive strategy for social good. Seva
Sangamam is designed to share its learnings and curate a robust library of NGOs
and individuals with their tremendous convening power, could bring the greater
good for the civil society.

Seva Bharathi - Telangana has always received the required support from the
CSR committees and Corporate leaders, Seva Sangamam was not an exception.
This event was attended by more than 20+ Presidents, Vice Presidents and CSR
Committee heads of various IT Companies.

For everything you have done for us in the past, everything you still do and will
continue to do, Seva Bharathi just want you to know how thankful we are for
making this event a successful one, and we look forward to a prosperous future
together.

Women Conference:
Women are multifaceted personality with the power of benevolence, adjustability,
integrity and tolerance. Women’s conference discussed about distinguished role
Women play in empowering the society.

Teachers Conference:
Teachers are an extremely important facet of our society and are drivers of social
change. Teacher’s conference discussed how significant and valuable is their role
in social transformation today. Below is a gist of the event:

Importance of teachers in empowering the society while imparting the

Govt. teachers summarised how their free time is being utilised to empower
the rural students, increasing the reach of education and imparting value
based education

Selected NGOs, Women and teachers were recognised for their transformative
work

India’s philosophy for ages had been Sarve jana Sukino bhavantu and Seva
Bharathi Telangana was setup in 1990 to fulfill this philosophy. Today’s
independent India is growing by leaps and bounds however millions of people
are unable to have a single meal, 30 crore people are in a state of hardship who
cannot meet their minimum needs. For the homeless, the needy, the ignorant
and the deprived, Seva Bharathi has been fore runner in providing required
shelter, education, health services and empower them for a better life in this
society with self-confidence and self-reliance. Seva Bharathi is involved or
actively organizes various service activities for the betterment of society to
alleviate illiteracy, ill-health, economic and social inequalities.

Seva Bharathi a pan India organization with 1,50,000+ service activities with a
focus on education, health, social equality, empowerment and need based
activities. Seva Bharathi Telangana chapter came into existence in 1990 working
for the empowerment of the economically weaker sections in the state. Tribal,
urban slum dwellers and resettlement colonies are the major beneficiaries.
About 2,500 activities are run through hundreds of projects throughout the year
in all the districts of the state of Telangana.

Total Service Activities under Seva Bharathi (As on 31st March 2019)
Affection Homes: Usually referred as Hostels however Seva Bharathi runs as
affection homes for destitutes, single parent children or the needy. These places
serve as a hub for education, skill development, imparting culture and vocational
training to the children in need. These affection homes are established in
Hyderabad, Bhainsa, Jagityal, Mancherial, Hanamkonda, Burgampadu,
Mahbubnagar, Ramayampet, Kisannagar, Suryapet, Kodad and Miryalguda.

Total No. of Affection Homes : 14

Beneficiaries : 573 (Boys: 487, Girls: 86)

Schools: Imparting education for children in need and focused on providing


quality education. The schools are operational in Mahbubnagar, Nizamabad,
Warangal and Secunderabad.

Total no. of Schools : 4

Beneficiaries : 764

Mobile Science Laboratory (Jignyasa): Children in Govt. Schools are far away
from performing experiments and Jignyasa is a step towards hands on
education. Jignyasa is Seva Bharathi take on Mobile Science Laboratory, Jignyasa
team move school to school educating children in Physics, Biology and
Chemistry.

Total Schools covered : 40

Beneficiaries : 14000

Study Centers: Need of Study centers arises when children are uncared after
school and finds lack of support where study and homework are least priority.
Study Centers create a comfortable and healthy environment for children to do
their daily challenges and also get additional support in learning from tutors.

Beneficiaries : 460

Adolescent Girl Development (Kishori Vikas): Every day, girls face barriers in
education caused by poverty, cultural norms and practices, poor infrastructure,
violence and fragility. Kishori Vikas is an attempt for the upliftment and empow-
erment of the girl child.

Total Centers : 204

Beneficiaries : 5,100
Child Development Centers: Imparting character, culture, extra cultural activi-
ties (dance, songs, etc.) and self defence techniques to boys and girls in urban
and rural slums across the state.

Mobile Ambulance (Sanjeevani): Lack of education and awareness, in a country


like us remains a challenge. Sanjeevani, a mobile healthcare service tries to
address problems of mobility, accessibility and availability.

Total Slums covered : 16 Beneficiaries: 9837

Free Health Camps: Many of our villages lack basic medical facilities or atleast a
qualified healthcare workers. Seva Bharathi, along with its volunteers of doctors
and nurses conducts regular camps in the hinterlands of our society.

Beneficiaries: 4,310

Help Desk: Getting a proper guidance in Government Hospital can be a difficult


and delaying. Seva Bharathi maintains these Help Desks which guide everyday
visitors with their queries and advise them accordingly.

Total Govt. Hospitals served: 4 Beneficiaries: 7,25,000

Shelter Home (Gandhi Hospital): Hospital visits can be prolonged and testing
for visitors. Shelter Homes takes care of this task by providing basic shelter for
visitors who have no where to go.

Total Govt. Hospitals served: 2 Beneficiaries: 85,270

Blood Donation Camps: Blood is one of the most personal things we can
donate. And our camps are conducted to raise awareness and to facilitate
people in coming forward.

Beneficiaries: 1020

Skill Development: India is a country thriving with young blood and it should be
our foremost agenda to mould this talent. Seva Bharathi Skill Development
center aligns itself with industry trend and provides platform to many young
achievers.

Every good act is Charity! Seva Bharathi is gratified to aid 2500+ activities
throughout the year across Telangana and ensured the needy are benefited. This
ambitious goal was achievable only because of the generosity and constant
support by the patrons who act as a pillar of strength in this noble cause.

Kishori Vikas Program
Unique program enabling adolescent girl children in urban / rural slums around
Hyderabad. Today more than 5,100 girl children are getting support in education,
learning extra curricular activities such as dance, songs, art, etc. and understand-
ing the importance of health. With the importance of girl child empowerment in
slums, we have a dire need of funds for the program to expand and meet the
mission of empowering 10,000 Girls.

Mobile Science Laboratory (Jignyasa)


Enabling science experiments to the government school children. Today 14,000
students from 40 government schools enjoy the privilege of practical experi-
