According to the video, at first Mr. Nestor Punzalan was afraid because of
the threats in the post by “Top Gear”. It wasn’t easy for him but he knew in
himself that he was not the person in the video. His family was also affected by
the situation. They said that they lost their moral and dignity because of the false
accusations of the netizens and the “Top Gear”.
The “Top Gear”, other media outlets and the netizens should give their
apology to Mr. Punzalan and be responsible of what they have done. Aside from
that, they should also help in clearing the name of Mr. Punzalan and his family
and pay for the indemnification.
Citizen journalism is the dissemination of information by people who are
not professional journalists. The role that they did together with the social media
in the incident was to falsely accuse Mr. Punzalan as the suspect of the shooting.
Instead of doing the right thing and giving factual and plausible information, they
did contrary. They became the source of the wrong information that lead to
something unjust.
The positive and negative effects of media and information on individual
and society that were evident in the incident was, first, it was good to become an
active media user and help in solving cases but we should be responsible on
what we posts and make sure that it is right and supported with facts and
evidences. It was evident in the story that media and information can lead to
negative effects. Posting false accusations in social media can give harm to other
individuals and even in the society itself.
To prevent this kind of incident experienced by Mr. Punzalan, we should be a
responsible media user. We should avoid posting implausible information and
unreliable data. We should also learn to filter information and differentiate facts
from bluffs.
As a social media user, the incident experienced by Mr. Punzalan gave
me the idea to become more responsible media user. With this incident we
should learn to identify which is which and we should not easily believe to news
especially if the source is non-reliable and if the news is made up of mere
opinions and lacks factual information. We should be INTELLIGENT enough in
the world of social media.

As he wrongfully accused as the suspect in the said shooting incident, first

is he’s image to the people being broken, also they are some threat for him. The
issue being viral in social media that the netizen make buzzing and trending. It is
sad to say that he is innocent in the said shooting incident, because of that the
view of the people to him is being damage.
It has big liability to the top gear who will be the poser of the wrongfully
accused as the suspect in the said shooting incident for Mr. Punzalan and to the
other outlets and netizens. The person who posting the fake news may accused
because of deformation to Mr. Punzalan without any strong evidence that will
show to accused Mr. Punzalan in the said shooting incident. They should clear
the names of Mr. Punzalan in the people and apologize to him
Wrongfully warn to the people who nothing to do that will involve to the
incident. Maybe the citizen journalism want to get the attention of netizen
because he has no strong evidence to accused Mr. Punzalan in said shooting he
did not think before he posting the fake news that he has a disgruntled person
There is a lot positive and negative effect the media and information on
individual or in society, positive because in social media can produce or provide
a lot of information about everything that happened in our surrounding like what
happened to Mr.Punzalan the top gear wrongfully accused Mr.Punzalan as the
suspect in the said shooting incident by using social media we inform about what
happened to Mr. Punzalan but by using social media can say the true
information. In the other hand the negative effect of social and information they
can also provide or produce fake news or wrong information like what happened
to Mr. Punzalan the op gear accused him in social media so the information can
easily spread in social media and by that all the people used social media can
see the wrong information so that’s the negative effects of media to an individual.
As long as we have a social media in this world we can’t easily prevent
this kind of situation or incident like what Mr. Punzalan experience, we can’t
prevent that now or later what happened to Mr. Punzalan can happen to other
people the things that we can do or help is don’t judge and mind other people’s
life.
This kind of incident is natural in social media but we as a user of social
media don’t easily judge other people and don’t always spread some information
in social media that we can’t assure if that is true or not like what happened to
Mr. Punzalan don’t easily believed in what you can see and read in social media.

Mr.Nestor Punzalan affects so much by being wrongfully accused in social

media as the suspect in the said shooting incident. He feel traumatized and the
dignity of his family was mislaid. Also the security of his life and family is in
danger.
The liability of Top Gear,other media outlets and netizens who wrongfully
accused Mr. Punzalan as the suspect in the incident is they gave fake news to
the social media users without any strong evidence to pin point Mr. Punzalan as
the suspect.
In that case citizen journalism played the role of giving fake news.
The usefulness of media and information on the individual and in our
society were evident in the incident was they gave the news early rather than in
the news on T.V but in contrast the negative of giving information in media is to
give them a fake news without any strong evidence.
To prevent this kind of incident we must be investigate first if the source is
true and let the authority give the information first before you post in the social
media.
The important lessons that I learned in this event we should be careful
what we do in social media, we must check the source if it is acceptable and
correct, and don’t trust some news in the social media.
