A. Poetry is a unique art of literacy, but it doesn’t have a clear definition of what it is.

It is
said that poetry uses a fictional plot, a specialized language, and it is written in a special form
(style). When writing poems, authors try to express their thoughts in less space using that
“specialized language”, not compare to novels and short stories that use much more space.
- Characteristics of Poetry:
There are many characteristics of poetry, the main ones are Lyrical poetry and Narrative
poetry (Lethbridge & Mildroft, 2003). Lyrical poetry are short, non-narrative poems, which
include subcategories, and one of them is the Sonnet, which is written in fourteen lines
(Lethbridge & Mildroft, 2003). The Narrative poetry is a form of poetry that tells stories
through it, for example love stories, tragedies etc. Other forms of poetry are written in four
lines, which are known as stanza. Stanza is used more often in poetry, by many Albanian
poets as well as poets throughout the world.

 Written in poetic meter
 Focuses on image-driven metaphors
 Might have a narrative, but it might not or it might be harder to understand
B. Prose is a type of epic literature that is written in lines. Usually sentences in prose
continuous in that line, not in another one. Some authors (writers) say that writing prose is the
best form of writing, because words are in their best order.
Sometimes we wonder what does the word PROSE means. The word “prose” comes from
another similar Latin word that is PROSA and it is used to describe facts or anybody’s
thoughts.
- Characteristics of prose
 Written in paragraphs
 Tells a story rather than describes an image or metaphor
 Generally has characters and a plot
C. Drama is a piece of writing, which is artistically presented with dialogues. A drama is
attractive, impactful and real as it presents characters along with a natural and credible
aspects. It is very similar to a short story as it also comprises characters, plot, setting as well
as symbolism. However, short story and novel have a demarcation as these are not performed
in front of the audience, whereas a play is meant to be performed on stage. In short, a drama
provides a live setting where the characters are real and demonstrates the story in a natural
way. Moreover, a play carries more influence and mostly, it motivates the audiences easily.
As we all know, things, which are visual have more trustworthiness and fidelity.
- Characteristics of the drama
 Characters: Characters play an important role in the drams whether it is a major or
minor one. A brief description of each character should be included in the drama. For
example, Troy Maxson is the main character of the August Wilson’s ‘Fences’. Other
characters like Troy’s wife (Rose) and friend (Jim Bono) are related to the main
character.
  Plot: Plot comprises exposition, a rising action as well as a falling action, climax and
resolution. After the exposition, the main conflict comes and finally, the resolution
that provides a conclusion.
 Symbol: The use of gestures, objects or persons is needed to showcase the inner
meaning that is beyond the literal.
 Tragedy: A play, which is written based on a social, religious or personal issue. In
tragedy, a series of actions are developed with a noticeable magnitude of characters.
 Comedy: Comedy showcases the sense of rebirth and hence, this type of drama
usually ends with the wedding or expectation of new generation. Here, characters are
represented in a comic and absurd ways.
