1)Design the lap welded joint between two flat bars as shown below used as a tension
member using fillet-welds for the full tension load capacity of bars. Bars are made of A-36
steel ( Fy  250 MPa ) , and welding is made using E-60 electrodes ( Fuw  415 MPa ) .
