Evidence: The time is now

This evidence is divided into two parts: A composition and an audio file. Read the
instructions below and make sure you complete both tasks.

A. Answer the questions below. Use the examples as models of the grammar and
vocabulary you have to use.

1. Why didn’t you study English before? (List at least 5 reasons in a

composition.)

Example:

One of the reasons why I didn’t study English before it is because I thought it
was too difficult. I didn’t understand my English teacher at school and that
was frustrating.
One of the reasons why I didn't study English before was
because I thought English was very difficult and boring, I
also thought that I wouldn't need English at all.

I believed that learning English was a headache, and that

learning English was only for people who wanted to
specialize in that language,
2. How different would things be if you had learned English before? (Name
and explain at least 5 things.)

Example:

If I had learned English some years ago I would have accepted a job a
multinational company offered me five years ago. One of the requirements
was to speak English and my level back then was very low.

Well, if I had learned to speak

English before now I could be
working in a call center. Now I
would have more understanding

B. Record an audio file of yourself answering the following questions. Use the
examples as models of the grammar and vocabulary you have to use.

1. Why are you studying English? (List and explain at least 4 reasons.)

Example:

I am studying English because I have finally understood how important

this language is today.
English is a bridge between countries, hurdles where you go at least you
have to know English.
Learning English allows you to interact with people from other continents
such as Europe, Africa or Asia. because you will always find there people
who speak this language.
That is why I decided to learn English by this language is very important
for our development as professionals.

2. In what ways are you going to benefit from this learning?

Learning English will help me grow as a professional and have more

opportunities to get a job,
because in many jobs one of the main requirements is to know how to speak
English.
English will allow me to expand my mind to a new world of posisibilities and
personal and business relationships, English will open the doors to
internationalization.
