In what ways do factors affect a person’s


ability or desire to access health services
and use health information?
To Include:

Task: Your task is to develop a written report analysing how factors influence access to health care to
determine relevant contributions and influences to health access. You are required to draw on
information provided in class and your interpretations of factors provided. Your written report must be
in paragraphs and include an introduction, body and conclusion.

Use the prompts below:

 Introduction (out of 2.5 marks)

Your introduction must provide background information to the topic. You are to explain health care
access and identify the five key factors that will be explored in your report. The aim should be identified;
the aim of this task is to explain the contributing factors that affect people’s ability to access health
services and information, including digital media, in Australia.

 Discussion/Body (out of 20 marks)

In your main body you are to explain each of the five factors. Using the five factors you are to explain
how the factor influences access to health services and information. In your discussion you should use
statistics and evidence to support your explanations.

 Link each factor to access to health services and information
 Link each factor to people’s ability to access digital media in Australia

 Conclusion (out of 2 marks)

This should be a short summary of your report. Reiterate key points and give an overall statement of
the contribution of the five factors on influencing access to health care systems and information.

 Presentation (out of 2.5 marks)
