Project Description:
In September 5, 2019 The Best Tea Shop business was established by Mr. Michael
Bartolome, the business name was inspired by a Korean boy band which is called BTS. Mr.
Bartolome wanted to have his own business to manage and expand. The Tea Shop offers various
beverages such as Milk teas, Shakes and some snacks.

The Best Tea Shop only uses a manual ordering system when taking the orders of the
customers. Since the business is newly established the transaction with the customers are
recorded in a paper.

Mr. Bartolome pointed out that the manual ordering system is time consuming since the
orders are needed to be written individually. This type of process does not only consume time but
energy of the employees as well. Some customers change the orders which can cause confusion
and inevitable errors to the list of orders and sometimes the employees forget to write down the
orders.

Developing a Point of sales system for The Best Tea Shop would make an improvement
to the transactions with the customers. The orders will be fast and efficient and errors will be
avoided. The owner pointed out the issue at the end of the day when the employees need to tally
the total sales and the used cups, with the proposed system the owner and employees can
monitor the recorded sales and the inventory of supplies since the point of sales system can
generate an automated total tally of sales and the used stocks within the day.

Objectives of the Study

General Objective:

The Point of Sales System aims to satisfy the current needs of the business by the
computerized sales system that ceaselessly records and tally the sales. The proposed system
can help The Best Tea Shop enhance the company’s operation.

Specific Objectives:

1. To develop a Point of Sales System and implement a sales module that will handle the
sales reports (based on product, total cost of items sold, total retail amount, net profit).
2. To develop a Point of Sales System that records the transactions with the customer.
3. To develop a Point of Sales System that will handle the inventory of stocks, It holds the
information regarding the produced products and materials. Send a notifications if the
stocks reach at the critical level of the stock.
4. To develop a Point of Sales System that reduces the labor required to gather the
customers orders, which leads to smoother services.
5. To design a Point of Sales system that automatically compute and control the sales.

Scope:

 The Proposed System for the Best Tea Shop can record the order transactions with the
walk in customers only.
  The Proposed System for the Best Tea Shop can generate an automated total sales report
within the day.
 The Proposed System for the Best Tea Shop can handle the inventory information.
 The proposed system simplifies the accounting and record-keeping tasks.
 The proposed system reduces time consumed when checking the inventory.

Delimitations:
 The Proposed system does not support of biometric scanners for security purposes.
 The proposed system does not accept and record payments through credit cards, debt
cards and checks. The system only records payments through cash.
 The proposed system can only be accessed by the owner and the employee for the privacy
and security of the information.
