1. DATA
The experiment was divided into two parts. In the first part, I observed that when a magnet with the same
pole facing each other, it produces a pattern of iron fillings moving away from each other. However, when
a magnet facing each other with a different pole, the iron fillings produces a line from end to end of the
magnets. In the second part, there were 4 parts. We did 6 trials for part a, 11 trials for part b, 6 trials for part
c, and 8 trials only for part d. All of the measured magnetic force in grams for each part were increasing.

2. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

Initially, we investigated the magnetic characteristics of a ferromagnetic material. Using u-and bar magnets,
when a magnet having the same pole facing each other it indicates that there is a repelling force in between
the 2 magnets. On the other hand, if the magnet facing each other with a different pole it means that there
is an attracting force in between the 2 magnets. The magnetic field and the magnetic force along with the
current, length and orientation of the current carrying wire has a correlation with each other, and these were
visualized through the next part of the experiment. In accordance with the values presented with table a,
when there is an addition of the number of magnets present in the system, it was observed that the evaluated
value of the magnetic force goes higher as well. This implicates that there is a direct correlation between
the two parameters. Next, the data in table b, when there is an addition by 0.5 in the current in the system,
it was observed that the calculated value of magnetic force goes higher as well. This implicates that there
is a direct proportionality with the magnetic force and current. Same relationship can be concluded in table
c, the evaluated value of the magnetic force increases as so do the number and length of the current loop.
Lastly, in table d, the data presented says that, in parallel to its object, the force of the magnet is at its
minimum while it is at its maximum when it is facing perpendicular to its object. So, we could state that
there is a direct correlation with the angle of the coil and the magnetic force. The possible sources for this
experiment are the improper arrangement of equipment like the magnets, coil, current balance, etc. and the
wrong adjustment for the values of current. It is advisable to avoid to touch the wires in the magnets in the
second part of the experiment to obtain good values.

3. CONCLUSION
After performing the experiment, all of the objectives were fulfilled. We were able to investigate the
behavior of magnetic fields of different pattern around the magnets, and finally, we were able to investigate
also the magnetic field and the magnetic force along with the current, length and orientation of the current
carrying wire that has a correlation with each other.
