ASSEMBLE AND DISASSEMBLE BRAKE

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

1. Given necessary tools and equipment:


Plier, long nose plier, screw driver, cleaning brush, sand paper, cleaning
solution, hammer, hydraulic jack.

2. Demonstrate and Perform:


-Pull-out and mount the brake system
-Disassemble and assemble brake system
-Clean parts of the brake system

3. The assessment shall be based on the units of competency in the Training


Regulations and the Evidence Plan and shall focus on the following evidence
gathering methods:

4. The final assessment shall be the responsibility of the accredited assessor.

5. At the end of the assessment, the accredited assessor shall give you feedback
on the result of assessment. The feedback shall indicate whether you are:

Answers to Questions:

1. Park the vehicle on a level ground.


2. Place the hydraulic jack under the chassis near the wheel and support it with
jack stand.
3. No, because hydraulic jack is not enough to hold the weight of the vehicle. You
must support the vehicle with jack stand.
4. Put a stopper on the front and back of the wheel
5. The mechanical brake system will still exist.
6. A wooden block was used as a form of brake system.
7. Use your hand brake and engine brake to slow down the vehicle.
8. Accident may occur specially for those who are under the vehicle
9. Wearing of personal protective equipment and clothing such as hand cleaner,
hand gloves, safety shoes.
10. Recycle fluids and oily rags lay them out in a well-ventilated location until dry.
Seal them in a non-flammable container filled with water until you
can dispose of them.
11. Conduct road test in a non-crowded place/road
12. Lift the vehicle with a hydraulic jack then put a stopper to the non-lifted wheel
then test the wheel that is lifted by pressing the brake.
